Abstract

Device for attaching the backrest of a seat to a support arm, in which device: - the backrest comprises a rigid shell (5); - at least one elastic compressible shoe (6) is inserted between the shell (5) and each point at which the arm (1) is to be attached to the shell (5); - the shell (5) is attached to the arm (1) by attaching means that allow the shell (5) some angular travel relative to the arm (1) between a first position in which the shoe (6) is not compressed and a second position in which the shoe (6) is compressed.
