Abstract

This invention provides an insulator fine particle film, which has no limitation in the size of a base material and requires no expensive equipment such as a vacuum chamber in the production of the insulator fine particle film, a process for producing the insulator fine particle film, and a capacitor using the fine particle film. A fine particle film (1) comprises a base material (14) covered with a film formed of a first film compound having a first functional group. A fine particle layer with reactive fine particles (42), covered with a film formed of a first coupling agent having a first coupling reactive group which forms a linkage upon a reaction with the first functional group being arranged, is bonded and fixed in one layer through a linkage formed by a coupling reaction of the first functional group with the first coupling reactive group on the surface of the above base material (14). Alternatively, fine particles (24) covered with a film formed of a film compound reactive with the first coupling reactive group, and reactive fine particles (42) are further alternately bonded and fixed thereonto.
