Abstract

　パターン検出装置は、入力を受け付けた複数の文書画像から境界値αを推定する。ここで、境界値αとは、文書画像内で文字、図表および透かしパターンを構成する画素値と、背景を構成する画素値とを切り分けるための値である。次に、パターン検出装置は、各文書画像について、境界値α以下の画素値からなる階調ごとの画像をそれぞれ作成する。続いて、パターン検出装置は、作成された各画像のそれぞれを同一階調間でマッチングし、マッチングスコアの平均値が最大となる階調を特定する。そして、パターン検出装置は、特定された階調の各画像を累積加算して、累積加算された画像から透かし文字らしき領域（透かし文字が埋め込まれている蓋然性の高い領域）を抽出する。
