Abstract

A method of performing a geophysical survey is described including the moving of receivers through a body of water in at least two different depths with signals recorded at the first depth and of the second depth are combined by muting the signals of the first depth for all frequencies below a cross-over frequency and muting the signals of the second depth for all frequencies above a cross-over frequency to maximize signal within the zeroth ghost notch and signal-to-noise across the full survey bandwidth. The signals at the second depths are advantageously recorded at a lower spatial density than the signals at the first depth.
