Description

GOLF SWING PRACTICE BELT
Technical Field The present invention relates to a golf swing practice belt, and more particularly, to a golf swing practice belt that is worn around hipbones and below pelvises to detect a turning motion of the hip during the swing, thereby allow the user to accurately learn the turning mechanism of upper and lower parts of the body.
Background Art
A golf swing requires more precise connection in the motions between arms and the body as compared with other sports. That is, in order to correctly learn the golf swing, a practice for the accurate motion of the hands and arms as well as a practice for the correct motion of the body is essentially required.
Many of conventional golf swing practicing tools are weighted on the accurate motion of the hands and arms.
However, it is actually difficult to make a desirable swing unless the user does not understand on or practice how and why the motion of the body must match with the motion of the hands and arms. Therefore, there is a need for a specific practice tool for the turning motion of the body. Since the concept of the turning motion of the body, which consists of upper and lower part, is quite a vague subject matter and structurally hard to understand, it is difficult for golfers to practice the correct turning motion of the body and to get the right method of the turning motion.
Disclosure Technical Problem The present invention has been made in an effort to solve the above-described problems and it is an object of the present invention to provide the golf swing practice that can allow the user to easily understand the mechanism of a correct turning motion and the method of using his/her body by allowing the golfer to feel his/her turning motion of the hip and waist by himself/herself .
Technical Solution
To achieve the object, the present invention provides a golf swing practice belt including: a belt portion worn around hipbones and below pelvises of the body for a golf swing practice; a plurality of hip supports that are connected to the belt portion and contact the body closely; and a plurality of pelvis supports that are connected to the belt portion and contact the body closely, wherein the hip supports include first and second hip supports closely contacting a concaved portion meeting a back of a femoral region that correspond to both sides of a back of the hip; and the pelvis supports are connected to the hip supports and include second and third pelvis supports tightly contacting the pelvises while enclosing a portion under the pelvises.
Advantageous Effects
As described above, when a golfer practices the golf swing with the golf practice belt of the present invention, he/she can have the effect of having a good swing coach since the user can practice the golf swing while feeling a correct set-up posture, weight shift, hip turn, and body turn.

Best Mode for Carrying out the Invention
Preferred embodiments of the present invention will now be described in detail with reference to Figs. 1 through 7.
Fig. 1 is a perspective view of a golf swing practice belt according to an embodiment of the present invention, Fig. 2 is a sectional view of FIG. 1, Fig. 3 is a view illustrating a wearing example of the golf swing practice belt of Fig. 1, Fig. 4 is a reference view of a body contact state of the golf swing practice belt;, and Figs. 5 through 7 are views a golf swing practice belt according to another embodiments of the present invention.
Referring to Fig. 1, a belt portion 2 is formed in a strip shape having a first end on which a fastener 24 is attached. A first pelvis support 221 is formed at a middle portion of the belt portion 2. First and second hip supports 20a and 20b each formed in an oval shape are symmetrically formed at both sides of the pelvis support 221. Second and third pelvis supports 222 and 223 are respectively formed at outer sides of the first and second hip supports 20a and 20b.
As shown in Fig. 2, the belt portion 2 is provided with an inner space 26 in which a weight material 30 such as sands is filled so that the user can feel a weight when he/she wears the belt. The weight of the belt ranges from lkg to
2kg within which the user does not feel the burden and can feel the turning sense of the hip that is a center portion of the body turn, thereby doing the correct swing motion.
The weight of the belt can be adjusted considering a case where the wearer is a man or a woman. By the weight material of the belt, the user can more sensitively feel the motion radius of the hip.
Particularly, the weight of the weight material filled in the first through third pelvis supports 221, 222 and 223 may be greater than that of the weight material filled in the first and second hip supports 20a and 20b so that the first and second hip supports 20a and 20b are more stout than the first through third pelvis supports 221, 222 and 223. This is to allow the belt to be more snugly worn on a portion where the hip meets a back of the femoral region.
The first through third pelvis supports 221, 222 and 223 and the first and second hip supports 20a and 20b are alternately formed. The first and second hip supports 20a and 20b may be arranged to be appropriate for the portion where the hip meets the back of the femoral region. The fastener 24 attached to the belt portion 2 may be a Velcro fastener, a clip, or a buckle.
Fig. 1 shows a typical structure of the belt of the present invention, and Figs. 6 and 7 show modified structures of the belt considering different body shapes.
As shown in Figs. 1 through 7, the space 26 of the golf swing practice belt according to variety embodiments of the present invention is divided into a plurality of the hip and pelvis support sections through, for example, needlework. Then, the weight material is filled in each of the sections. By filling the weight material in each of the sections, the belt can be stable worn without deformation and movement due to the movement of the weight material .
In addition, as shown in Fig. 6, a belt portion 2 is formed in a strip shape having a first end on which a fastener 24 is attached. A first pelvis support 221 is formed at a middle portion of the belt portion 2. First and second hip supports 20a and 20b are formed at both sides of the pelvis support 221. Second and third pelvis supports 222 and 223 are respectively and successively formed at outer sides of the first and second hip supports 20a and 20b. By this structure of Fig. 6, since the fist and second hip supports 20a and 20b closely contact the hip in parallel. Therefore, the belt of Fig. 6 can be selectively used according to the body shape of the user. In addition, as shown in Fig. 7, a belt portion 2 is formed in a strip shape having a first end on which a fastener 24 is attached. A first pelvis support 221 is formed at a middle portion of the belt portion 2. First and second hip supports 20a and 20b each formed in an oval shape are symmetrically formed in parallel at both sides of the pelvis support 221. Second and third pelvis supports 222 and 223 are respectively and successively formed at outer sides of the first and second hip supports 20a and 20b. By the structure of Fig. 7, the first and second hip supports 20a and 20b and the first pelvis support 221 entirely contact the hip and pelvis of the body. Therefore, the belt of Fig. 6 can be selectively used according to the body shape of the user.
The following will describe the wearing and operation example of the above-described belt.
The golf wing practice belt A illustrated in Figs. 1 through 5 allows the wearer to accurately feel how the body weight is transmitted to the hip during the addressing, back swing, and down swing that are the basic motions of the golf swing. a. Posture
The golf swing practice belt A is worn such that the first and second hip supports 20a and 20b enclose both sides of a back of the hip, i.e., a concaved portion meeting a back of the femoral region and the second and third pelvis supports 222 and 223 enclose a portion right under the both pelvises. That is, the golf swing practice belt A is worn such that it tightly encloses the hip.
Fig. 4 schematically shows a state where the first and second hip supports 20a and 20b closely contacts a hip line.
That is, the hip supports and the pelvis supports closely contact the lines of the hip and pelvises of the body so that the belt is stably worn without drooping.
In the above-described wearing state, when the user assumes an address posture, the user can feel that the hip is drawn rearward and the upper part of the body is bent with respect to the lower part of the body at the pelvis . The both side of the back of the hip is tightly enclosed by the first and second hip supports 20a and 20b. This posture where the user can feel the tightness at the both sides of the hip is the correct setup posture. If the setup posture is not correct, the user cannot feel the tightness at the both sides of the hip. b. Arm Swing When the user wearing the golf swing practice belt practices the arm swing with his/her left arm or two arms drooping without using a golf club, the user can feel the relationship of the arm turn with the lower part of the body.
The arm swing practice is one of the most important golf practices. When the user practices the arm swing while thinking other factors such as a squat posture and hip turn that will be described later, the user can learn the twisting and turning principle of the lower and upper parts of the body and how the arms turns while following the upper part of the body during the turning of the upper and lower parts of the body. At this point, as the turning speed of the body increases, the user can feel that blood leans toward ends of the hands. This is the important point the user has to get through the practice. c. Weight shift
When the user wearing the golf swing practice belt A starts the backswing from the correct setup posture turning the upper part of the body, the body weight is shifted rightward. The body weight shift is transmitted from the inside of the right foot to the right hip enclosed by the belt A and thus the right hip is passively drawn backward so that the belt A applies tightness to the right hip.
At this point, the user can feel that most of the force is applied to the inside of the right foot and leg with the tightness at the right hip. Since the force is applied as the hip is passively drawn rearward by the turning of the upper part of the body, little power is applied to the inside of the right foot and leg if the right hip is pushed or swayed rightward. Therefore, when the user wears the golf swing practice belt A, the user can keep the correct turning radius of the hip and thus easily feel the weight shift.
In addition, when a directional change takes place from the top of the backswing where the power is fully applied to the inside of the right foot and leg, the right hip is not quickly turned but the hips are returned closely to the original address position as the right foot initiates the lower body turn to the target direction so that the user can feel the belt tightness the most at the left hip.
That is, in the backswing, the user practices such that he/she identifies the belt tightness at the right hip, and when the downswing starts, the user identifies the belt tightness at the left hip. d. Squat Posture
The above-described body weight shift and the tightness of the left hip at the transition make a squat posture referred by many professional golfers. That is, the squat posture is a position where the hip functioning as a center portion of the swing turns along a fixed track without shaking and the hips are almost in parallel with a target direction as the body weight is shifted toward the left side.
Namely, this squat posture is a position made when the belt tightness is applied to the left hip at the start of the downswing . e . Gearing Hip Turn Upon getting the squat posture, the golfer applies his/her body weight to the left foot and leg while turning his/her hip in the target direction. Then, the upper part of the body and the arms turn sequentially following the lower part of the body. The golf swing practice belt A of the present invention allows the golfer to practice the gearing function of the hip for the principal of "From the Ground Up" at the downswing while accurately feeling the turning of the hip like a gear.
