Abstract

The securing pin for tendon grafts comprises of a head, a constant diameter body, at least one transverse hole (2,3) at the tailing end and a longitudinal hole (4). The overhang at the head is part of a circle and is non-moving. The transverse holes (2,3) at the tailing end of the securing pin are used to secure the tendon grafts. The longitudinal hole (4) is used to align the securing pin as well as push it through, as it is threaded to use with an extractor or a protractor. The securing pin is nailed inside the bone tunnel, restricted in its movement in the bone by the wide head while the tendon passes through the hole (2,3) by pulling it and reaching its final secure position. The securing pin can be used in securing grafts (tendons etc) in orthopaedic operations (knees etc).
