The present invention relates to the field of computer operations triggered from printed information. Document FR-A-2 805 359 describes a method of controlling an operation in which a reading device provided with an optical reading sensor reads coded information on a surface on which the device rests and transmits the information to a digital processing unit connected to the device for triggering a computer operation. This type of process is satisfactory but requires the use of a reader.

Also known are numerical codes printed together with a barcode, which make it possible, by implementing a processing computer system such as that of a cash register, to associate the code with the reference and the price of a product in question. entering the code by means of a keyboard when the barcode is not exploitable by the barcode reader connected to the cash register of the store.

It is also possible to associate a code and an Internet address to facilitate access to contents of a website by typing on the keyboard of a computer connected to the Internet a digital code included in an advertisement relating to said product and providing access to on the product's Internet page within the company's site that manufactures and / or markets the product. However, the Applicant has found that these methods have disadvantages. The alphanumeric code contains in it all the information making it possible to access the computer object with which it is associated according to the application used. The alphanumeric code must necessarily be long in order to allow a large number of combinations. This has the disadvantage that a long code is difficult to insert on a printed page for reasons of lack of space in the layout or respect a visual charter, and tedious to seize, especially if several long codes must be entered.

The alphanumerical code, to allow access to the computer object with which it is associated, must be interpreted by a suitable computer application, which it is necessary to activate beforehand. For example, in order to access the detailed information associated with a given product from a supplier over the Internet, it is necessary to first connect to the provider's website and then enter the alphanumeric code in an input window on said site. In the case of several advertisements in a magazine concerning products from different suppliers, it would be necessary to connect successively to the websites of the different suppliers to be able to type in the interface made available by each site, the corresponding alphanumeric code, which is proves relatively off-putting for the user.

The present invention aims to overcome these disadvantages.
