Abstract

A protective ducting for pipes, cables or lines (2) comprising at least one module (100) is described, each of said modules (100) comprising a generally cylindrical body (1) involving the pipe, cable or line thereby to form an enclosed cylindrical inner channel (4) for housing the said pipe, cable or line (2), said body (1) being provided with one single longitudinal split (41), a tip-shaped end and a bag-shaped end, said body (1) being further provided with an internal cavity (31) for housing one single metal tension band (32) per module (100), said cavity (31) having two open ends so that the said tension band (32) can pass through the said cavity (31) of an adjacent module (100) in order to secure a first module (100) to a second module (100), at least a portion of said tension band (32) being so contained and protected in the interior of said body (1); and an element (33) for locking said metal tension band (32) and impart stability to said modules (100) on the pipe, cable or line (2 )to be protected. The method for the installation of modules (100) forming the protective ducting for pipes, cables or lines (2) is also described.
