Abstract

The invention relates to a portable device (10) for the safe kindling of a fire, optionally for cooking, especially for travel purposes. Said device can consist of a plurality of sheet metal parts (20, 30, 50, 60) including a bottom tray (20), lateral walls (30) that can be mounted in the bottom tray, a rear wall, a grid (50) to be fixed to the lateral walls and the transversal wall, and a fire tray (60) that can be inserted into the bottom tray. According to the invention, the cited sheet metal parts are respectively provided with a plurality of recesses (24, 32, 33, 52, 64) so that they do not change shape under the heat load caused by the fire.
