[0006] また、インジェクター本体の内面側に設けた凹部にゴム製のオーリングを配設し、こ のオーリングによりプランジャーの外周面に対して半径方向の押圧力を付与して摺動 抵抗を変化させる技術が開示されている。しかし、このようにインジェクター本体の内 面側に設けた凹部にゴム製のオーリングを配設するものでは、オーリングによりプラン ジャーの外周面に対して半径方向に一定の押圧力が付与されるだけであり、プラン ジャーの移動位置に応じて摺動抵抗を変化させることはできな力つた (例えば、特許 文献 1参照)。
[0007] また、レンズ放出時のレンズとプランジャーとの急激な飛び出しを防止するため、本 体とプランジャーとの間にパネを介在させて、プランジャーに反対方向の負荷をかけ るようにした技術が開示されている。し力し、そのようなものであっても、ノズルからレン ズが放出される際のレンズと本体内面との間の摺動抵抗の変化がなくなるわけでは な 、し、意図しな 、タイミングにお 、てプランジャーが逆方向に戻ってしまうことにより 、再度の押し出しでレンズに設けられた繊細な支持部を損傷したり、レンズを確実に 把持できなくなる可能性がある。(例えば、特許文献 2参照)。
[0008] さらに、プランジャーに末端がフリーな突起を設けて本体内面との間の摺動抵抗を 増加させた技術も公開されているが、この技術では突起と本体内面との間の摺動抵 抗の大きさをプランジャーの押し込み位置に応じて変化させることは困難であった( 例えば、特許文献 3参照)。

発明の開示
発明が解決しょうとする課題
[0009] 本発明は上記開示された従来技術が有する課題を解決しょうとするものであり、プ ランジャーの移動位置に応じて次第にプランジャーの押圧力が大きくなり、安全なプ ランジャー操作を行うことが可能な眼内レンズ挿入器具を提供することを課題とする。 課題を解決するための手段

発明の効果
[0019] 請求項 1記載の眼内レンズ挿入器具によれば、プランジャーの移動位置に応じて 本体とプランジャーとの間の摺動抵抗を変化させたので、プランジャーの移動位置に 応じて次第にプランジャーの押圧力が大きくなる。したがって、ノズルの先端部からレ ンズが放出された後であっても、プランジャー押圧力が急激に低下することはなぐプ ランジャーの先端部を不意に眼球内に突出させることがない。そのため安全なプラン ジャー操作を行うことができる。

発明を実施するための最良の形態
[0029] 以下、本発明を実施するための形態について図面を参照しながら説明する。図 1は 本発明が適用される眼内レンズ挿入器具の第 1実施例を示す断面図である。この眼 内レンズ挿入器具 1は、眼内レンズ 2を通過させて眼球内に導く筒状の本体 3と、前 記本体 3内において往復移動可能に収納され、前記眼内レンズ 2を押圧して眼球内 に放出するプランジャー 4とを備える。そして、プランジャー 4の側部には複数の突起 5がプランジャーの軸方向に所定の間隔をお!/、て設けられて 、る。
[0030] 筒状の本体 3には、眼球の切開創ロカ 先端部が眼球内に挿入されるノズル 6、レ ンズ 2を設置するレンズ設置部 7、術者の指に把持される把持部 8等が設けられて 、 る。さらに、レンズ設置部 7には開閉自在の蓋 9が設けられ、レンズ設置部 7内にはレ ンズ 2の移動を制限するための固定突起 10が設けられている。
[0031] ここで、本発明が適用される眼内レンズ挿入器具 1は、医療用器具であるため器具 の構成部材の材質は物理的'ィ匕学的に安定な材料であることが要求される。特に、 眼内に挿入される部位に使用される材料は、生物学的に安全性の保証のなされたも のでなければならない。例えば、 FDA (Food and Drug Administration)でインプラ ント材料として認定されたものや ISO (International Standardization Organization) でインプラント材料として規格化されたもの、あるいは ISO10993に従って行なわれ た試験の結果、問題のな!、材料であることが確認されたものであることが求められる。 これらの要求を満たす材料として、例えば筒状の本体 3の材料としては、ポリエチレン やポリプロピレンなどを用いることができる。
[0032] レンズ 2は、レンズ本体である光学部 2aと該光学部 2aを眼球内に位置固定するため の 2本の支持部材 2bと力もなる。支持部材 2bは細 、ひげ状をして 、る。
[0033] プランジャー 4は、筒状の本体 3の内径寸法より若干小さな外径寸法を有する部分 4 aと、ノズル 6の内径寸法より若干小さな外径寸法を有する部分 4bとからなる。筒状の 本体 3の内径寸法より若干小さな外径寸法を有する部分 4aは、筒状の本体 3内に摺 動可能にして挿入されている。また、ノズル 6の内径寸法より若干小さな外径寸法を 有する部分 4bは、その先端部 4cにお 、てレンズ光学部 2aの周縁を押圧してレンズ 2 をノズル先端から眼球内に挿入することができるようにされて!、る。
[0034] このような眼内レンズ挿入器具 1を用いてレンズ 2を眼球内へ挿入する場合、術者 は片手操作でレンズ 2を眼球内へ挿入することができる。具体的には片手の人差し 指と中指により本体の把持部 8を把持するとともに、親指の腹部をプランジャーの基 端 4dに当接してプランジャー 4を本体 3内に押し込む。そうすると、レンズ 2はプランジ ヤー 4の先端 4cにより押圧され、レンズ設置部 7から畳み込まれながらノズル 6内へと 押し込まれる。かかる構成および作用は、図 14に示す従来技術による眼内レンズ挿 入器具 100と同じである。
[0035] し力し、図 14に示すような眼内レンズ挿入器具 100にあっては、折り畳まれたレンズ 2がノズル先端部より開放される段階においてノズル 6の内面とレンズ 2との間の摺動 抵抗が急激になくなるため、プランジャー 4の押圧力をそれに合わせて瞬時に低減さ せないと、プランジャー 4の先端も勢い余って眼球内に飛び出してしまうことになる。
[0036] 一方、本実施例による眼内レンズ挿入器具 1には、プランジャー 4の側部に複数の 突起 5a, 5b, 5cがプランジャー 4の軸方向に所定の間隔をおいて設けられている。こ れらの突起 5a, 5b, 5cはプランジャー 4と同一材料で一体的に製作される。図 1に示 すように高さ寸法が異なる 3つの突起 5a, 5b, 5cが設けられており、プランジャー 4の 先端側の突起 5aの高さは低ぐプランジャー 4の基端側の突起 5cの高さは高くされて いる。また、中間に位置する突起 5bの高さは、先端側の突起 5aと基端側の突起 5cと の中間的な高さを有している。このような構造をしたプランジャー 4を本体 3内へ押し 込むと、最初に高さの低い先端側の突起 5aが本体 3内へ挿入され、少し摺動抵抗が 増加する。続けてプランジャー 4を本体 3内へ押し込むと、中間に位置する突起 5bが 本体 3内へ挿入され、また少し摺動抵抗が増加する。さらにプランジャー 4を本体 3内 へ押し込むと、もっとも高さの高い基端側の突起 5cが本体 3内へ挿入され、一段と摺 動抵抗が増加する。このようにしてプランジャー 4の押し込み量、すなわちプランジャ 一 4の移動位置に応じて本体 3とプランジャー 4との間の摺動抵抗を段階的に変化さ せることができる。したがって、ノズル 6の先端部からレンズ 3が放出された後であって も、本体 3とプランジャー 4との間の摺動抵抗が急激に低下することはなぐプランジャ 一 4の先端部を不意に眼球内に突出させることがない。そのため安全なプランジャー 操作を行うことができる。
[0037] なお、上記の説明では 3つの突起 5a, 5b, 5cの高さを異なる高さとした例について 説明したが、 3つの突起 5a, 5b, 5cの高さを同一の寸法としてもよい。
[0038] 図 2は、本発明の第 2実施例を示す外観図である。本実施例は多くの点で第 1実施 例と共通する構成を有するものであるが、突起 5a, 5b, 5cの内部に空間 11を設けた点 が第 1実施例と異なる。本実施例ではプランジャー 4の側部に設けられた突起 5a, 5b , 5cの内部に空間 11が設けられており、このような空間 11がない第 1実施例に比較す ると、突起 5a, 5b, 5cの剛性を容易に低下させることができ、プランジャー 4を本体 3内 へ押し込む際の摺動抵抗が必要以上に増加するのを抑制することができる。また、 空間 11の有するパネ効果により、突起 5a, 5b, 5cの製作に際し製作誤差の許容度が 大きくなるというメリットがある。
[0039] 図 3は、本発明の第 3実施例を示す外観図である。本実施例は第 2実施例と共通す る構成を有するものであるが、突起 5dの数と複数の突起 5dの内部に空間 12が連通し て配設されている点が第 2実施例と異なる。このように複数の突起 5dの内部に連通し た空間 12を設けることにより、各突起 5dの内部に個別の空間を設ける場合に比較す ると一層突起 5dの剛性が低下して変形し易くなる。したがって、プランジャー 4を本体 3内へ押し込む際の摺動抵抗の増加を抑制することができる。また、空間 12の有する パネ効果により、突起 5dの製作に際し製作誤差の許容度が大きくなる。
[0040] 図 4は、本発明の第 4実施例を示す外観図である。本実施例は第 2実施例と第 3実 施例の構成を組み合わせたものであり、内部に単独の空間 11を有する突起 5cと、内 部に連通した空間 12を有する複数の突起と 5a, 5bが配設されている。このような突起 5a, 5b, 5cと空間 11, 12の配設により、プランジャー 4の移動位置に応じて本体 3とプ ランジャー 4との間の摺動抵抗を高い自由度をもって変化させることができる。
[0041] 図 5は、本発明の第 5実施例を示す外観図である。本実施例ではプランジャー 4の 側部に先端側力も基端側に向力つて徐々に高さが増加するリブ状の突起 5eが 2本設 けられている。このような突起 5eを設けることによって本体 3内へのプランジャー 4の押 し込み量に応じて本体 3とプランジャー 4との間の摺動抵抗を連続的に増カロさせるこ とがでさる。
[0042] 図 6は、本発明の第 6実施例を示す外観図である。本実施例ではプランジャー 4の 側部に先端側力 基端側に向力つて徐々に幅が増加する平面視三角形状の突起 5f が設けられている。このような突起 5 設けることによって本体 3内面とプランジャー 4 との間の摺動面積が変化し、プランジャー 4の押し込み量に応じて本体 3とプランジャ 一 4との間の摺動抵抗を連続的に増加させることができる。
[0043] 図 7は、本発明の第 7実施例を示す外観図である。本実施例ではプランジャー 4の 側部に複数の突起 5gが設けられ、配設される突起 5gの数をプランジャー 4の先端側 力 基端側に向かって次第に増加させている。このような突起 5gを設けることによって もプランジャー 4の押し込み量に応じて本体 3内面とプランジャー 4との間の摺動面積 が段階的に変化し、プランジャー 4の押し込み量に応じて本体 3とプランジャー 4との 間の摺動抵抗を段階的に増加させることができる。
[0044] 図 8は、本発明の第 8実施例を示す外観図である。本実施例ではプランジャー 4の 側部に所定の間隔をおいて複数個所のリング状溝 13を設け、該リング状溝 13にォー リング 14を装着して突起を構成したものである。このようなリング状溝 13とオーリング 14 を設けることによって、プランジャー 4の押し込み量に応じて本体 3内面とプランジャ 一 4との間の摺動面積が段階的に変化し、本体 3とプランジャー 4との間の摺動抵抗 を段階的〖こ増加させることができる。
[0045] 図 9は、本発明の第 9実施例を示す外観図である。本実施例は図 2に示す第 2実施 例と共通する構成を有するものである力 突起 5a, 5b, 5cに設けられた空間 11aが閉 空間ではなぐ外気と通じた開放空間である点が第 2実施例と異なる。このように空間 11aを開放空間とすることによりプランジャー 4の製作が容易になる。また、図 3および 図 4に示す空間 11, 12についても、図 9に示す空間と同様な開放空間とすることがで きる。
[0046] 図 10は、本発明の第 10実施例を示す一部断面図である。本実施例は筒状の本体 3の内面 3aにテーパーを設け、筒状の本体 3の内径を先端に向力つて連続的に次第 に小さな寸法としたものである。テーパーの程度はプランジャー 4の寸法に対応する よう適宜決定される。このような構成により種々のプランジャー形状に対して、プランジ ヤーの移動位置に応じて次第にプランジャーの押圧力を大きくすることができる。

[0050] 以上、本発明を幾つかの実施例に基づいて説明したが、本発明は上記した実施例 に限定されるものではなぐ種々の変形実施をすることができる。例えば、上記実施 例にお 、ては、プランジャー 4の側部に設けた突起の剛性を低下させるために突起 5 a, 5b, 5c, 5dの内部に空間 11, 12を設けた例について説明した力 突起の剛性を低 下させる手段は突起の内部に空間を設けるものに限らない。突起の内部に空間を設 ける代わりに、突起に凹部ゃ孔、さらに溝を設けることにより突起の剛性を低下させる ことちでさる。
さらに、上記実施例においては、筒状の本体 3内に眼内レンズ 2を直接セットする場 合について説明した力 本体 3とは別のカートリッジ内に眼内レンズ 2をセットし、該カ ートリッジを本体 3に装着して使用する眼内レンズ挿入器具についても適用できること は言うまでもない。

Claims

請求の範囲
[1] 眼内レンズを眼球内に挿入するための眼内レンズ挿入器具であって、筒状の本体と
、前記本体内において往復移動可能に収納されたプランジャーとを備え、前記ブラ ンジャーの移動位置に応じて本体とプランジャーとの間の摺動抵抗を変化させたこと を特徴とする眼内レンズ挿入器具。
[2] 前記プランジャーの側部に突起を設けたことを特徴とする請求項 1記載の眼内レンズ 挿入器具。
[3] 前記突起の数を前記プランジャーの軸方向に沿って複数配設したことを特徴とする 請求項 2記載の眼内レンズ挿入器具。
[4] 前記突起の大きさを前記プランジャーの軸方向に沿って異なる寸法としたことを特徴 とする請求項 2または 3記載の眼内レンズ挿入器具。
[5] 前記突起の配設を前記プランジャーの軸方向に沿って変化させたことを特徴とする 請求項 3または 4記載の眼内レンズ挿入器具。
[6] 前記突起の内部に空間を設けたことを特徴とする請求項 2〜5のいずれか 1項に記 載の眼内レンズ挿入器具。
[7] 前記空間が複数の突起の内部に連通していることを特徴とする請求項 6記載の眼内 レンズ挿入器具。
[8] 前記突起をオーリングにより構成したことを特徴とする請求項 3記載の眼内レンズ挿 入器具。
