Definitions
- the invention relates to a deflection area for escalators or moving walks.
- Escalators and moving walks are part of the general state of the art. Escalators are suitable for overcoming differences in height, for example between storeys of a department store or the like, with steps usually being used here in one piece using the aluminum injection molding process.
- Moving sidewalks are usually used in flat or slightly inclined areas, whereby pallets produced using the aluminum injection molding process are also usually used.
- the steps produced in one piece have a comparatively large overall height
- the pallets used for moving walks are of rather small dimensions in terms of their height. What they have in common is that they are deflected by chain wheels using conventional technology. Depending on the width of the steps or pallets used, there are corresponding more or less large deflection radii, which entail a large overall height of the respective scaffolding.
- the aim of the subject matter of the invention is to provide a deflection area for an escalator or a moving walkway, in which steps which are reduced in construction height or pallets can be reversed in their running direction with a considerable reduction in the construction height of the respective scaffolding.
- a deflection area for steps of an escalator that are reduced in height or for pallets of an escalator, comprising two deflection wheels on each side of the escalator or escalator, one of which is a chain wheel for deflecting a chain roller of the respective step connected to a drive chain or pallet and the other a profile wheel for Receiving and deflecting a track roller spaced apart from the chain roller of the respective step or pallet, wherein the two deflecting wheels, for deflecting the respective step or pallet in the manner of a paternoster, can be driven in synchronism with one another.
- the height reduction of a step can be brought about, for example, by the step consisting of several segments, i.e. is no longer in one piece, is assembled, the individual segments in the deflection area being collapsible in such a way that the overall height of a pallet for a moving walkway is reached.
- the same conditions are now given both for an escalator and for a moving walkway for redirecting the steps of an escalator, which are reduced in height, or the pallet of a moving walkway, which is already flat.
- the profile wheel is always arranged on the outside in the respective deflection area of the escalator or escalator, based on the chain wheel.
- the roller is transferred - depending on the running direction of the escalator or moving walk - from an upper guideway into the area of a lower guideway, or vice versa, the respective guideway at least from the sprocket to the area of the profile of the profile wheel extends in such a way that the respective roller can be inserted into the area of the profile wheel without impact.
- Polygon effects as are the case with conventional deflection technology for steps or pallets, no longer occur here.
- a drive for synchronous operation of chain and profile wheel is provided at least in a deflection area, chain wheel and profile wheel being connected to one another, in particular via a toothed belt.
- the step or pallet is connected to the drive chain via a chain roller that is firmly connected to the step or pallet and is connected to the. Drive chain deflected together.
- the track roller which is spaced apart from the chain roller, is introduced into the area of the profile wheel via the upper or lower guide track.
- Figure 1 schematic diagram of an escalator with indicated deflection areas for the steps of the escalator
- FIG. 2 schematic diagram of one of the deflection areas indicated in FIG. 1; Figure 3 deflection scheme of a stage shown in Figure 2.
- FIG. 1 shows a schematic diagram of an escalator 1, including a scaffold body V, balustrades 2, a plurality of steps 3, a lower deflection area 4, an upper deflection area 5 and guide means 6, 7 for rollers provided in the area of the steps 3, not numbered here . Also shown is a drive consisting of motor 8 and gear 9, which acts on the individual stages 3 via drive means 10. In the deflection areas 4, 5, the steps 3 composed of individual segments are folded together, so that a relatively flat body is formed.
- FIG. 2 shows one of the deflection areas 5 of the escalator 1. For the sake of clarity, only a single folded stage 3 can be seen.
- two synchronously rotating deflection wheels 11, 12 are provided, one of which (11) is a chain wheel.
- the other (12) is formed by a profile wheel, which serves to receive a front or rear roller 13, depending on the direction of travel of the escalator.
- a chain roller 15 connected to a drive chain 14 is fastened to step 3.
- Both a chain wheel 11 and a profile wheel 12 are provided on each side of the deflection area 5, the chain wheels 11 being connected to one another via an axis 16.
- the roller 13 is to be introduced from a lower guideway 19 into the profile area 17 of the profile wheel 12 and transported by the same to the area of an upper guideway 18.
- the synchronous direction of rotation of the sprocket 11 and profile wheel 12 are indicated, wherein as a result of the synchronous rotation of the sprocket 11 and profile wheel 12 a stage 3 deflection in the manner of a paternoster can be realized.
- the toothed belt 10 already mentioned in FIG. 1 can also be seen in the upper deflection area 5 of the escalator.
- the deflecting area 4, 5 shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 is also suitable for deflecting flat-built pallets of a moving walkway, in the same way as shown in FIG. 2, without requiring additional constructional expenditure.
- the deflection area according to the invention can be used in the same way for both types of transport.
- FIG. 3 shows a deflection diagram for a single folded stage 3, as is already shown in FIG. 2.
- a pallet of a moving walkway can be meant.
- the roller 13 and the chain roller 15 can be seen.
- the roller arranged in between is irrelevant for the description of the subject matter of the invention and is also used only when the steps are folded for an escalator.
- For pallets for a roller walk would only be given the roller 13 and the chain roller 15.
- the profile wheel 12 together with the profile areas 17 is shown.
- the diagrams a - h) clearly show how the chain roller 15, which is connected to the drive chain 14, is deflected in the area of the chain wheel 11.
- the spaced-apart roller 13 is guided over the upper guideway 18 into the area of the profile wheel 12 and is transferred into the area of the lower guideway 19 by its rotational movement.
