Abstract

The shielding (3) comprises at least two envelopes (4, 5). An inner envelope (4) arranged closer to the device (2) for shielding to shield the emission (A) from f = 0 Hz of the device (2) and a second outer envelope (5), for shielding the device (2) from the irradiation (B) from f = < 10 kHz from outside. Said envelopes (4, 5) are preferably arranged at a separation from each other such as to form a cavity (10), in which at least one coil (15 - 20) is arranged generating an electric and/or magnetic field for additional compensation for the incident radiation (B). A sensor (21) for determining the incident radiation (B) is arranged outside the shielding (3). The compensating field generated by the coil or coils can be controlled by means of the above. The function of the device (2) can be improved as a result of said shielding (3). If said device (2) is a magnetic resonance tomograph an improved image quality is achieved and hence an improved diagnosis reliability and the location thereof can be freely selected.
