Definitions
- the invention is directed to a method of injecting polyurethane or another curable material into special modules for pipelines that are to be installed at house- connections and a module.
- a special module is installed at a house-connection in a pipeline.
- the space between the module and the pipeline to be reconstructed is sealed by injection of polyurethane in expansion collars in the line on both sides of the connection.
- the injection is carried out with a device that is pushed into the pipe, the nozzle of which is directed into an injection valve arranged on the inner surface of the module.
- the task can be carried out without any digging, through the sewer inspection shaft.
- Drawbacks of present methods are installation difficulties and a phase in the installation phase where an injection nozzle is directed to the valve of the module.
- Other disadvantages in the present methods are the slowness of installation work that leads apart from high installation costs to the need for the customer to adapt to the need of space needed by the installation equipment, pipes and installation team, sometimes in very highly habituated and trafficked areas.
- the present invention is directed to a new method for manufacturing and installation of VipLiner house-connections and a house-connection.
- the module is made by cutting an extruded tube at a fixed length and drilling a hole at the centre for a house connection.
- the cut tube is turned according to the demands of the male and female connection ends and a sealing tape is arranged in the male end in its own groove, additionally grooves are turned at both sides of the drilled hole in the center of the tube for a back valve and rubber bands are fitted in the grooves and the edges of the back valve are marked on the inner surface of the tube.
- a sealing collar is mounted on the outside of the back valve. Additionally a cover profile is made, which is directed to the hole drilled for the house connection.
- the module can also be made by injection moulding, in which case there is no need for turning.
- a method for installing a house connection module in a pipeline comprising cleaning of the old pipeline and filming the same with a video camera whereas the distances from the installation shafts to the house connections are marked, and using the markings the house connections are installed at the distances in the correct order, additionally the connection module is turned in a way that places the hole (opening) of the module at the place for the inlet pipe of the house.
- the method comprises steps, wherein an injection head with its resin transfer tubes is pushed to the position of the connection, the puncture/injection nozzle is placed axially in the tube between the marked boundary areas and the injection head is pushed through the wall of the module using a hydraulic cylinder. After this polyurethane or other hardening material is pumped into the insulation collar. The rise of the pressure of the urethane indicates when a sufficient tightness is achieved, whereby the nozzle piece is drawn back into the tube by the hydraulics. The back valve prevents the not yet hardened material from flowing through the punctured wall of the module.
- Fig 1 shows a house-connection module with the cover profile arranged in place.
- Fig 2 shows the house-connection module and the cover profile separately.
- Fig 3 shows a back valve arranged in its groove.
- Fig 4 shows the injection of urethane and the injection situation in the installation step.
- an extruded tube 4 is used for making a house connection module 2.
- the manufacturing starts by cutting the tube 4 to fixed length.
- the tube is then turned according to the demands of the male and female binding ends.
- 50-200mm, preferably 100 mm wide grooves for the back valves 22 are also turned.
- a groove is additionally turned for the sealing tape 10.
- a hole 18 for the house connection is drilled at the center of the module. Rubber bands are placed in the turned grooves, which bands function as back valves 22 and the boundary edges 12 of the back valves 22 are marked on the inside of the module.
- Sealing collars 14 are arranged on the outside of the back valves 22 in which collars the insulation material is injected during the installation step.
- a sealing tape 10 is arranged in the grooves turned for it.
- a cover profile 16 is made, which fits into hole 18 of module 2, to be arranged in connection module 2.
- the module can be made by injection moulding a ready module in its final shape, in which case the need for turning disappears.
- connection module according to the invention is additionally to lower production costs, that no special back valve or the installation of the same is needed, which is both harder and more time consuming that CNC-turning of a groove and installation of a rubber band.
- the solution according to the invention is also cheaper than the previously known.
- a house connection module with a cover profile 16 arranged around the connection hole 18 is installed without any digging, through a sewer inspection shaft. Before the actual installation the existing pipeline is cleaned and filmed with a video camera. In connection to the filming the distances to the house connections from the installation shaft are marked. Based on the measurements the special modules 2 for the house connections can be installed in the correct order, so that the connection module 2 is at the inlet pipe of the house connection.
- connection module 2 When the connection module 2 is at the correct place it is rotated so that the opening 18 of the module is at the inlet pipe of the house.
- injection apparatus 20 which comprises a blender and pumping unit, tubes and an injection head, is prepared for injection of polyurethane.
- the injection head and its resin transportation tubes are pushed inside the pipe to the first sealing collar 14 of the connection module 2, then the injection head is pushed through the wall of the module with the help of a hydraulic cylinder.
- Polyurethane is pumped through the injection head into the sealing collar 14 until the rising pressure of the urethane indicates that a sufficient fullness and thereby a sufficient thickness for the insulation is reached.
- the nozzle piece is drawn back into the pipe by the hydraulics, whereas the back valve prevents the unhardened resin from flowing back into the pipe through the pierced hole. The same operation is repeated at the second sealing collar of the connection module 2.
- a dosing apparatus for two-component resin and a specially made injection head the central parts of which are a forth and back operating hydraulic cylinder for punctuation, and an actual punctuation and injection head are needed, apart from the connection module.
- the hydraulic cylinder is used as described above, for pushing the injection head through the wall and for releasing it after the injection.
- the manufacturing and installation method for a house-connection module according to the invention solves the problems found in the present methods as well as the slowness of installation work and the high costs.
- the solution according to the invention is especially preferable therein that the problem relating to the direction of the injection head to the valve of the module in the prior art is solved.
- the solution according to the present invention is faster and requires less preciseness in the injection step, as the injection nozzle does not need to be directed more precisely than that it hits inside the boundaries of the back valve. This makes the installation essentially faster and results in that the total installation work can be carried through faster, which leads to lower installation costs and that the spacious pipes and installation equipment can be removed from densely habituated and highly trafficked areas faster.
