  • the flap 42 extends from a fold 44 spaced a short distance from the upper end as shown in Fig. 1 of the lid 38, and the flap 42 has rounded ends.
  • Identical base flaps 46 are provided on the first and third walls 20, 36.
  • the base flaps 46 are engageable with the base flaps 28 and will be glued together, to close the container 12 in a conventional manner.

  • the first part 56 connects to a wider second part 60 by a transverse fold 62.
  • the second part 60 is substantially square with a slightly smaller dimension than the width of the first wall 20.
  • a semi-circular cut out 64 is provided in the edge of the second part 60 away from the first part 56.
  • the container 12 can be formed from the blank 16 in a conventional manner, using the base flaps 28, 46 and the gluing flap 32.
  • the label receiving structure 18 can be arranged by folding the flap 50 into the interior of the container 12 to lie parallel to the first wall 20.
  • the fold 52 facilitates location of the flap 50 within the container 12.
  • This arrangement defines a slight lip 66 (best visible in Fig. 5) spaced above the window 48, and a slot 68 behind the lip 66.

  • a formation such as a recess could be provided in the container wall which can receive a label, and perhaps at the top thereof, to locate and correctly orientate the label.
  • the invention has been described in relation to a container suitable for a wine bottle or similar, the invention is usable on a wide range of different shapes and types of containers. Such containers need not be closable. The invention could for instance be usable with folders to permit labelling thereof.

Abstract

Ensemble de conteneur (10) comportant un conteneur (12) formé à partir d’une découpe en carton (16) et d’un organe d’étiquette (14) qui peut être sélectionné avec un message approprié. Le conteneur (12) possède une fente (68) au travers de laquelle une première partie (56) de l’organe d’étiquette (14) peut être glissée de façon que le message sur ladite étiquette puisse être vu depuis l’extérieur du conteneur (12) par une fenêtre (48) de celui-ci. L’organe d’étiquette (14) comporte aussi une deuxième partie plus grande (60) qui peut être pliée par rapport à la première partie (56) lorsqu’elle est en place, pour fermer sensiblement le haut du conteneur (12). Un couvercle (38) du conteneur (12) peut être fermé pour maintenir l’organe d’étiquette (14) en place.
