Abstract

The present invention relates to a package for transporting and storage paper-rolls (5) especially rolls of toilet paper or paper towels. The whole consumer unit (1) is formed of two smaller consumer units (2, 3) or more being connected one to another in a detachable manner with the possibility to store such a consumer unit in a simple manner in a store and to separate in smaller consumer units for transport and easy storage in the trunk of a car for transport and in the consumer’s home area. By a re-sealable opening (7) the paper-rolls in an easy manner can be extracted from the unit keeping the other rolls clean before they are extracted for use.

Technical field

The invention relates to packages containing goods like paper-rolls, especially rolls of toilet paper or paper towels which are stored for demonstration in consumer shops, transported from there away by customers and being stored again by the consumers for keeping the content of the packages ready for use.

Especially, the invention relates to transport- and storage package containing paper-rolls, especially rolls of toilet paper or paper towels, comprising an envelope forming a space accommodating the paper-rolls in at least one row, at one end region of the row a re-closable and re-sealable opening is provided at the envelope.

Background art

Packaging for rolls of toilet paper and paper towels, serving as dispenser is known from EP 1 853 852 A2. The rolls of paper are packaged in a box of parallelepiped shape made of a board or other material, in which one ore more of said rolls are placed in a parallel arrangement and in one or more parallel rows, the box having means that enable it to function as a dispenser for the consumption of the packaged paper, which is unwound from the roll or rolls, the latter preferably being arranged with their axes horizontal . For the dispensing function, the box has at the lower front a hatch with pre-incisions around its perimeter. These can be broken to allow said hatch to be rotated downwards and inclined at an angle of less than 90° relative to the box. One roll can be rested permanently on the hatch so as to be visible and convenient for use. A hatch may include at least one adhesive strip so that it can be re-closed.

A dispenser system is also known from EP 1 352 601 A2. There is disclosed a plurality of interconnected packages for dispensing paper products. The packages comprise a plurality of interconnected housing which contain the paper products . In this manner, each housing forms a dispenser for the paper product and is provided with a connector to enable a combination of two or more packages with different fields of application.

EP 0 454 541 Al describes a box containing rows of paper- rolls and at one end of the box there is provided a handle loop.

Such paper-rolls are either packed in plastic bags, or wrapped film-material creating units of different dimension with 2, 8, 10, 16 rolls etc. up to 64 rolls in Nordic countries. Usually, for 8 rolls consumer units, packages are flat, in form of bags without handles and the rolls are packed standing in a one-layer configuration.

Disclosure of the invention

It is the problem of the present invention to provide such packages, which can be stored in a simple manner in the shelves of consumer shops, can be handled by the consumer in a simple manner for transport from the shop to their home and at home in a storage room.

This problem is solved by the teaching of claim 1. There are present at least two envelopes as smaller units, which are releasably connected one to another such that parallel to the rows of rolls the envelopes are connected. The consumer unit can be separated creating two or more smaller consumer units that have an own integrity. In fact, when detached, the unit itself turns out to be a new consumer unit of smaller size. Such smaller units can be better fit to the car trunk and the space at home in the cellar, bathroom, storage room, etc.

The envelopes as smaller units preferably are connected one to another by a pressure sensitive glue such that detachability is possible. Especially, if film-material is used for the envelope a pre-perforated line can be present, which is torn for separating the units.

The envelopes may be different in size and the number of rolls in a row may be also different.

Since the consumer unit is closed, especially for a hygiene product, attention is dedicated in keeping it dry, clean and avoiding contact with dust. By the re-closable and re- sealable opening paper-rolls can be taken off through the opening whereafter the opening is closed and sealed for keeping the paper-rolls clean and unaffected during storage. Especially the opening is closed by an adhesive tape preferably being fastened on one side of a perforated line and being releasably fixed to the other side of the perforated line so that by the tape the opening can be opened for taking off a paper roll. Thereafter the next paper roll moves in the space behind the opening and the opening can be closed by the tape. In the same way the next paper roll can be taken off if necessary.

A handle maybe provided at the envelope, preferably at the other end region of the envelope opposite to the opening. The handles have a double function of allowing easy carrying of the package and storing of same (e.g. the pack can be hanged on a hook in the bathroom or in a storage room) . Embodiments of invention

Fig.l shows in a 3-dimensional view a consumer unit 1 being formed of two smaller consumer units 2 and 3. Both smaller consumer units 2 and 3 are releasably connected one to another by glue strips 4 which can be provided in the drawn manner. Nevertheless, it is possible to provide glue strips being attached longitudinally. Anyway, it is possible easily to separate the smaller consumer units 2 and 3 in order to have smaller units separately for better handling, better storing and better transport. Each smaller consumer unit 2 and 3 consists of a separate envelope 2 ' and 3 ' respectively which accommodates a row of paper-rolls 5 being for instance either toilet paper-rolls or rolls of paper towels. At one end region 6 of the envelope 2 ' and 3 ' as an example by a perforated line 7 an opening is present from which the paper roll 8 can be extracted. The opening is equipped with an adhesive tape 9, which preferably is fixed to the part 10 of envelope and is releasably fastened to the part 11 of the envelope so that the opening can be opened by moving the tape 9 away from a handle 12 ' , which is provided at the other end section 13 of the unit opposite to the tape so that opening is easy when the handle is in hand of a person or on a hook 14 as illustrated in Figs.2a and 2b. Instead of a glue 4 also a perforated line could be used provided in a film before making the envelopes so that separation of the smaller units 2 and 3 can be achieved by tearing the perforated line (this is not illustrated) .

If the lowest paper roll in Fig.2a is extracted from the opening 7 the upper three paper-rolls move down in a position as illustrated in Fig.2b so that the next lowest paper roll can be extracted through the opening 7.

Fig.l on the one hand and Figs.2a and 2b on the other hand, show the double function of the handles 12' and 12/2' for carrying and transporting and for storage on a hook.

Although the envelope is drawn like a box if made of plastic film the form of the envelope is not such strict as a parallelepiped as illustrated in the drawings. Certainly, the envelope can be made also of cardboard or paper.

Claims

1. Transport- and storage package containing paper-rolls, especially rolls of toilet paper or paper towels, comprising an envelope (1) forming a space accommodating the paper-rolls in at least one row, at one end region (6) of the row a re-closable and preferably re-sealable opening (7) is provided at the envelope and at least two envelopes (2', 3') as units releasably are connected one to another such that parallel to the rows the envelopes (2', 3') are connected one to another.

2. Transport- and storage package according to claim 1, wherein the envelopes (2¹, 3') are connected one to another by a perforated line.

3. Transport- and storage package according to claim 2, wherein the perforated line is present in a pre- perforated film forming the envelopes.

4. Transport- and storage package according to claim 1, wherein the envelopes (2', 3') are connected one to another by a pressure sensitive glue (4) .

5. Transport- and storage package according to claim 1, wherein the envelopes (2', 3') are different in size.

6. Transport- and storage package according to claim 1, wherein the re-closable opening (7) is closed by an adhesive tape (9) .

7. Transport- and storage package according to claim 6, wherein the re-closable opening is closed by a perforated line (7) on one side (10) of the perforated line (7) the adhesive tape (9) is provided and fixed to be bonded detachable at the other side (11) of the perforated line (7) .

Transport- and storage package according to claim 1, wherein a handle (12¹; 12/2') is provided at the envelope (2', 3') preferably at the other end region (13) of the envelope opposite to the region where the opening is located.
