Abstract

A rack system designed for carrying cargo on top of a vehicle includes one or more extendible crossbar members (20) equipped with attachment devices configured to clamp or secure various items to vehicle. The crossbar members include stationary portions (24) that are fixedly attached to the roof of a vehicle. Extendible portions (22) are slidably mounted on top of the stationary portions, a user extending the extendible portion outward over a side of the vehicle for the easy loading cargo onto the rack system.
