Description

Liquid, sealing anchoring plug
The present invention relates to a liquid sealing anchoring plug intended to be fastened into an anchoring opening e.g. in a wall, a floor in wet rooms e.g. bath rooms, to seal around an anchoring part, such as a screw, for fixing of equipment such as basins, toilet chairs and so on, in order to prevent that liquid emerges into said anchoring opening.
At present different methods and materials are used for this type of structures to create a liquid sealing function at a fixing means, so that liquid, especially water, shall not leak in through a wall in e.g. a bath room, to avoid water damages in said wall, a floor, ceiling and so on. The most common method is that an anchoring opening is first drilled into the actual place and thereafter a common used anchoring plug of a plastic type is inserted into the opening in which silicone is filled. Therafter the actual equipment e.g. a toilet chair, a cupboard or other object is screwed onto its place. This method is not satisfactory, since the silicone is aged already after one year and leakages arise in said anchoring opening and water leaks in and causes damages. Water sealing anchoring plugs exsist but they function so that they shall after insertion of the anchoring part, also be filled with some sealing compound. Both these methods are expensive as to the material and handling and give furthermore not a perfect liquid sealing. Further it is easy to make a more or less satisfactory work with these methods, since the result will be varying after how good the sealing work is carried out.
The object of the present invention is to eliminate the drawbacks exsisting in the structures mentioned above in forming the anchoring part as a surrounding envelope, which is sealing around said anchoring part and which constitutes a friction surface for fixing of the screwed- in anchoring part, so that liquid cannot emerge into actual surface of the supporting means or wall.
Thanks to the invention one has now provided a liquid sealing anchoring plug, intended to be fixed in an opening in an actual surface of a supporting means, such as a wall, a floor, a ceiling indoors or outdoors, preferably in wet rooms such as bath rooms, washing rooms, swimming halls and so on. The liquid sealing anchoring plug is now creating a liquid sealing wall around said anchoring part, e.g. a screw, a bolt or the like, mainly all the way up to the surface of the supporting means or wall, in fixing of the actual equipment of the type, basins, toilet chairs, cupboards, towel racks and other equipment to the wall. This can be realized when the water sealing anchoring plug comprises a liquid sealing cavity, which is surrounded by a surrounding envelope made of rubber or a rubber si ilaring material. In one end there is a plug opening, in which the anchoring plug shall be inserted or be screwed in, after that the liquid sealing anchoring plug at first has been inserted into said anchoring opening. The surrounding envelope has an internal friction surface, which by friction and/or expansion directly against the friction surface and indirect against the walls of the anchoring opening via the surrounding envelope, fastens the anchoring part in the liquid sealing plug, so that liquid is prevented to emerge into the actual surface of the supporting means or wall. In a preferable embodiment example of the invention the liquid sealing anchoring plug comprises a collar provided end, which during the insertion of the plug into the anchoring opening creates a water proof connection, when contacting the actual surface of the supporting means or wall. The flange or collar formation has a greater diameter than the surrounding diameter of the envelope, so that the liquid sealing connection has a surface which is mainly parallel with the actual wall surface. The collar formation constitutes in this way a stop and a fixing into position of the anchoring plug during mounting of the same. By providing the liquid sealing connection with a layer of adhesive an enhanced liquid sealing effect is achieved and fixing against the actual mounting surface, when the same is fixed with an adhesive. During the delivery of the liquid sealing anchoring plug a protecting tape can be situated against the adhesive, said tape can be taken away before the mounting of the plug. The invention will be described in more detail below by aid of preferred embodiment examples with reference to the drawings enclosed, in which
Fig. 1 illustrates a transluced perspective view of a liquid sealing anchoring plug and
Fig. 2 illustrates a vertical cross section through a liquid sealing anchoring plug mounted in a wall fixing a part of an equipment e.g. a towel rack.
As can be seen from Fig. l a preferred embodiment of a liquid sealing anchoring plug 1 is illustrated, which is intended to be mounted in an anchoring opening 8 in a supporting means or wall 10 in order to seal around an anchoring part 9 for fixing an equipment 12 such as a towel rack in said wall 10. The qliuid sealing anchoring plug 1 comprises a liquid sealing cavity 3, which in its inside comprises a friction surface 7. The anchoring part 9 is fixed by friction and/or by expansion directly against the friction surface 7 and indirect via a surrounding envelope 4, which presses towards the walls 15 of the anchoring opening 8, so that the liquid sealing plug 1 and the anchoring part 9 are fastened in said anchoring opening 8. The liquid sealing anchoring plug 1 comprises a collar or flange formation 2 for creating a liquid sealing connection 6 at its contact with the surface 13 of the wall during the insertion into the anchoring opening 8. The liquid sealing connection 6 comprises an adhesive layer 11 for enhenced liquid sealing effect and adherence against the surface 13 of the wall. The adhesive layer 11 is covered by a protective tape 14, which can be removed before using the plug.
