Abstract

The hand-protector as a sport device serves to protect the hands from contusions in the area of the fingers, palms, wrist and the part under elbow when practicing winter sports such as snowboard and also from hits and falls on snowed or ice surface. The front part (1) for the palm and the back part (2) for under the elbow, which have shell-like form are connected by hinges between them as a monolithic body. The front part for the palm is formed from above of reinforcing vertical (11) and from below - peripheral ribs, as well as elastic band (12), fixed by the pin (13) to the bottom and with its free end - to the gripping device (14). The back part of the elbow has vertical peripheral ribs and is formed in both ends - angle stops (22), as well as elastic band fixed by its free end to the gripping device.

Description

HAND PROTECTOR
I. FIELD OF THE EQUIPMENT
The invention refers to a protection slide - hand protection, which has application as a sport device to protect the fingers, palms, wrists and the under elbows of the hands from injuries, contusions, sprains, fractures by hits in solid, sharp and other objects, as well as to provide stability and support with action of centrifugal and centroclinal forces when exercising the winter sports snowboard, short track etc, as well as when sliding on any type of snowbound and artificial surface.
II. STATE OF THE EQUIPMENT
A protective cover for hands is known, which represents a plastic plane with the form of the under elbow of human hand from the external side. By means of bilaterally adhesive band it is fixed to the under elbow and covers the external side of the hand till the first phalanxes of the palm. It is used as a protection means in the winter sports and especially in ski alpine disciplines. (1)
The defect of the protection cover for hands is that it protect the hand only from the external part, as well as the protection is not sufficiently efficient in case of falls on solid, iced and artificial ground for sliding.
in. TECHNICAL CHARACTER OF THE INVENTION
The task of the invention is to create protective slide - hand protection to protect additionally the hands of the sliding subject also from the palm of the hand, as well as to enhance considerably the protection of the hands in case of undesired hits and falls on solid, iced and artificial ground for sliding.
In conformity with the invention this task is resolved by means of a protective slide - hand protection, which is executed as a protective cover with the form of a shell and fixing bands. It consists of front part for the palm and back part for under the elbow, connected by hinges between them, in the free end of the front part for the palm being formed reinforced vertical ribs parallel between them, behind which towards the bottom of the front part for the palm from its external side being formed peripheral ribs. Behind them is fixed a band executed as fixing elastic band, the free end of which being gripped frontally to the gripping device. The other end of the front part for the palm finishes by peripheral ribs fixed by hinges to the back part for the under elbow, which is executed as a rectangular body with a couple of vertical peripheral ribs, from the external side of which being formed respectively angle stops and to one of the vertical peripheral ribs is fixed the fixing elastic band by a pin, in front of whose free end to a opposite vertical peripheral rib is fixed a gripping device.
The advantages of the protective slide for hand protection are:
- All the details of the device are versatile, the separate parts of the device are produced of solid composite materials such as polymers, epoxy and artificial resins, including fiber-glass and other materials, which are characterized by its lightness and toughness; the device gives a better support on curves and when executing skating figures where the centrifugal forces tend to pull the skater out of equilibrium but don't diminish its speed, necessary to maintain the body in the needed position; the angle which limits the developing of the wrist upward to 30°, protect it from luxation and rupture as by the increasing of this angle the risk of such consequences increases several times, but doesn't limit the free and natural movement of the skater when practicing winter sports; the supporting elastic band, which is fixed on the part for the palm of the slide, passes between the thumb and the index of the hand, thus limiting the sliding to the minimum of the palm and the fingers forward in the direction of the device, which protects them from luxation and rupture in case of frontal hit; the vertical reinforces increase several times the body toughness of the part for the palm of the protection slide, protects the fingers too, each one separately, from hits in solid objects; creates the possibility for the sliding subject to have the necessary better support with the figures which he executes, thus controlling also its speed of descent; the ribs on the surface from the external side of the front part for the palm, with which when using it the subject touches by hands the surface on which he slides and by the force of the pressure is regulated the friction and the resisting forces, which considering the age, sex, abilities and other characteristics give him the necessary support and security when sliding; the device is produced with transversal ribs of this surface; the device can be used for both hands separately, and provides also a health protective effect and guarantees the security of the practitioners of whiter sports protecting them from injuries, including in more extreme variants of these sports such as acrobatics and other similar; its production is easy and cheap. IV. DESCRIPTION OF THE ATTACHED FIGURES
The invention is explained more in details by means of the exemplary execution indicated in the figures, when:
On fig. 1 is given a view from above of the protective slide - hand protection;
On fig. 2 is represented a view from the side of the protective slide - hand protection from fig. 1 ;
V. EXEMPLARY EXECUTION
As shown on fig. 1 and 2, the protective slide - hand protection consists of front part for the palm 1, connected by hinges to the back part for the under the elbow 2, which are executed as a monolithic shell-like body;
The front part for the palm has flat shell-like form with reinforcing ribs 11 formed on top, behind which is situated the fixing elastic band 12, which is fixed by the pin 13 to the front part for the palm 1. In addition the free end of the fixing elastic band 12 is fixed to gripping device 14, fixed to one of the vertical peripheral ribs 11 by the pin 15. The back part of the vertical peripheral ribs 11 of the front part for the palm 1 are connected from the external side by hinges 16 to the back part for under the elbow 2. From below on the surface of the front part for the palm 1 there are transversal peripheral ribs 17. The back part for under the elbow 2 is executed as rectangular shell-like body with a couple of vertical peripheral ribs 21 parallel between them. On the external side are formed angle stops 22, and the back side of the part under the elbow 2 and to one of the vertical peripheral ribs 21 by pin 23 is fixed the fixing elastic band 24, the free end of which is hanged to the gripping device
25, fixed oppositely and symmetrically to the fixing elastic band 24.
In the front part for the palm 1 the fingers lay comfortably between the vertical reinforcing ribs and by means of the fixing elastic band 12 they and the palm are reliably fixed, the fixing elastic band 12 being stopped by its free end to the gripping device by pressing. When the fixing elastic band 24 of the back part for the under elbow 2 is fixed the same way, the protective slide adheres consistently with its sell-like form to the palm and the parts under the elbow of the human hand. When the subject is sliding on a snowed or artificial surface, he executes curves and figures. During the execution he touches the surface almost constantly by his palm 1 in order to provide a better support. From below the part of the palm 1 with its parallel peripheral ribs 17, which when sliding on the snow or artificial surface depending on the force of the pressure regulate the speed of the descent. In case of falling on iced and solid grounds and artificial surfaces, the protective slide protects reliably the hand from injuries and heavy contusions. The front part for the palm 1 and the back part for the under elbow 2, connected by hinges, permit to the practicing of winter sport to maintain equilibrium because he doesn't limit his hand in its movement as a whole.
The angle stops 22 limit the developing of the hand wrist to 30° between the ϋcont part for the palm 1 and the back part for the under elbow 2. Beyond the limits of this angle the probability of traumas increases several times. The front part for the palm 1 provides a bigger area of the palm and thus eases the erection of the body of the sliding subject after falling in soft snow blanket, which is impeded by the immobile fixing of his legs to the snowboard.
The fixing elastic bands 12 and 24 connect reliably the protective slide for the hand and when fixed by the gripping devices 14 and 25, the protective slide can't slip off by hits or falls.
The protective slide can be used successfully by practitioner also other winter sports in which the hands are free. Such are skating, short track, sledging and other similar.
