- the 5-Bromo-3-(4-fluoro-phenylsulfanyl)-lH-indole (1.34g, 4.16mmol) from Step 1 was suspended in formic acid (20mL). To this was added 30% hydrogen peroxide (0.94g, 8.3mmole). The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 1 hour. The mixture was diluted with 80mL water and extracted with lOOmL ethyl acetate. The organic phase was washed with 1.5M sodium carbonate (20mL, 30mmol), dried (magnesium sulfate), and concentrated under reduced pressure.
- the 5-Bromo-3-(4-fluoro-benzenesulfonyl)-l-methyl-lH-indole (0.30 g, 0.85 mmol) was mixed with piperazine (0.34g, 4mmole) and methyl sulfoxide (3mL). The mixture was heated at 120 ° C in a sealed tube for 3 hours.
- the ingredients are mixed and dispensed into capsules containing about 100 mg each; one capsule would approximate a total daily dosage.
- the ingredients are combined and granulated using a solvent such as methanol.
- the formulation is then dried and formed into tablets (containing about 20 mg of active compound) with an appropriate tablet machine.
- the ingredients are mixed to form a suspension for oral administration.
- the active ingredient is dissolved in a portion of the water for injection. A sufficient quantity of sodium chloride is then added with stirring to make the solution isotonic. The solution is made up to weight with the remainder of the water for injection, filtered through a 0.2 micron membrane filter and packaged under sterile conditions.
- the ingredients are melted together and mixed on a steam bath, and poured into molds containing 2.5 g total weight.
