Description

DISPOSITIVO DE SUTURA CON HILO INCORPORADO:SUTURE DEVICE WITH INCORPORATED THREAD:
MEMORIA DESCRIPTIVA. OBJECT OF THE INVENTION The purpose of this Utility Model application is to register a suture device with a built-in thread that incorporates notable innovations and advantages over current suture needles and means to close wounds and sew human and animal tissues.
More specifically, it is a suture device that incorporates a hollow triple beveled needle that incorporates a suture thread inside, said thread being supplied from a spool of existing thread inside an adjacent handle for handling.
ANTECEDENTES DE LA INVENCIÓN.BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Currently for suturing human and animal tissues such as skin and muscle are used with special aseptic thread and a specific sterile needle. The opening to be closed is sutured with a series of points of different configuration, such as U, X, continuous points and other configurations. At each point a strand of thread of about 35 to 70 centimeters in length is used, since for this it is necessary to introduce the thread through the two edges of the fabrics to be sewn by the needle, passing all the thread and contaminating it with blood and remains of tissue. Once the stitch is passed, the thread is knotted and the contaminated excess is cut. If the opening to be sewn is large, a large number of strands of thread is needed. In addition, the total sterilization of the surgical material to be used must be considered, given its complex maintenance. Depending on the entity of the cut or wound to be closed, surface clips or other means whose application is limited may alternatively be used. DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The purpose of the built-in thread suture device of the present invention is to provide a means for performing medical and veterinary sutures, being convenient to use, hygienic and of sterility assured, presenting multiple applications useful in emergency situations, in which the Surgical material cannot be easily maintained in conditions or simply to simplify the necessary material in a conventional operating room.
The new invention device mainly comprises a handle associated with a hollow hypodermic needle. Inside said handle is a reel of suture thread that is dispensed through a mouth, at the base of the hollow needle, to exit through the front end thereof. Said needle has a triple bevel at said outer end for a better introduction at the edge of the fabric to be sewn. Between said triple bevel is the exit hole of the suture, which appears in a small amount to be able to grab it and handle it.
The principle of use is simple, since the doctor who uses the device holds it by hand with the handle, which is especially ergonomic. Then insert the sharp end of the needle into one edge of the tissue and then into the adjacent edge of the tissue. When the needle appears on the other side of the tissue, it shows the thread of suture. Then, said free end of the thread is held with a clamp or the like and the needle is removed from the tissues by stretching from the handle. When the end of the thread is attached, part of the spool thread is unwound, which is inserted into the holes generated by the needle. This fragment of thread left in the fabric is supplied by the inner spool of the device and is always clean. Once the device is separated from the wound, the reel dispenses the necessary thread for the knotting by the needle, the thread is cut with the simple precaution of leaving a stretch of thread protruding from the end of the needle and proceeds to the final knotting. The device is ready for a new point.
The needle is preferably curved, in order to facilitate sewing of interior fabrics or in situations where the handling space is not abundant, although a straight needle can also be used for surface sutures and the like. Said needle is anchored at the front end of the handle, in a fixing mouth that on its back communicates with a chamber where the spool of thread is housed. This chamber is in turn communicated with the outside through holes or lateral grooves in the handle housing, which allows its complete sterilization by immersion, gas or autoclave.
The needle is preferably fixed and anchored to the handle through the mouth, forming a single body, although an alternative embodiment that can be disassembled and interchangeable is provided. Said needle is oriented at a certain angle to the axis of the handle, so that when the doctor manipulates the device does not have to touch nearby tissues. An angle between approximately 24 and 45 degrees allows the user's fingers not to rub said tissues when the needle is being introduced, but allows transmitting enough force to deepen the needle.
The handle that comprises the reel has its anatomical exterior shape and adapted to the user's hand, whether it is right or left handed, preventing it from sliding or slipping. Its constitution authorizes a greater vision of the field of operation since the hand is further away. In addition, in the previous part it presents supports for the index and thumb fingers that facilitate the effort of introducing the needle into the tissues. In turn on the back of the handle you can find a support projection for the removal of the device from the tissues. The spool contains thread of suitable sanitary type, preferably of monofilament type so that it does not get stuck inside the needle or in the mouth.
