Abstract

Die vorliegende Erfindung beruht auf dem Befund, dass die cis/trans Isomerisierung sekundärer-Amid Peptidbindungen in Oligo- und Polypeptiden katalytisch beschleunigt werden kann. Diese Katalyse wird durch im Weiteren als 'sekundär-Amid Peptidbdindung cis-trans Isomerasen' (APIasen) bezeichnete Enzyme bewirkt. Es ist davon auszugehen, dass die APIase Aktivität in einer Vielzahl von pathophysiologischen Prozessen eine zentrale Rolle spielt. Die Erfindung betrifft somit Arzneimittel, umfassend Substanzen, die die APIase Aktivität hemmen.
