Abstract

The invention relates to an urn, i.e. a container used to preserve the ashes of the dead, and the production method therefor. The technical field of the invention is the production of urns. According to the invention, the urn comprises at least two parts: a first part which is called the core and which contains the ashes, particularly calcined bone, and a second part which is called the casing. The casing surrounds at least one part of the core, is integral to said core and is at least partially transparent.

Description

Urn and its manufacturing method

The present invention relates to an urn, i.e. a container for holding the ashes of dead, and to its manufacturing method. The technical field of the invention is that the production of the polls.

It is common to arrange the cremation ashes of humans or animals in vessels with a bottom and side walls which are sealed by a removable cover disc-shaped.

WO 87/03639 describes the document an opaque urn containing ashes; the urn is incorporated - with other commemorative elements - within a monolithic transparent plastic body, the latter being surrounded by outer walls and resting on a base; the resulting objects are arranged in rows and columns in a tomb.

The present invention aims to provide an improved urn and a method of manufacturing such a box.

A ballot box according to the present invention comprises at least two parts:

- a first part called the nucleus, which contains the ashes, especially bone ash, and

- a second part called the envelope, which surrounds at least a portion of the core, which is made integral with the latter and which is at least partially transparent.

The shell protects the core containing the ashes against impact and runoff water, while allowing, through its transparency, see the kernel and ashes in it. The joining of the core to the envelope for easy handling and transport.

Preferably, the ash is mixed with a binder such as a translucent plastic material to form a composition for obtaining a desired shape by molding core, in particular shaped figure. Preferably, the casing is provided with a base at least partially flat enabling it to rest stably on a support.

Additionally or alternatively the casing is provided with a rear face also at least partially plane, facilitating support against a substantially vertical wall such as a wall.

Preferably, moreover, the envelope is at least partially made of transparent plastics material so that it can be easily manufactured at low cost, and can be highly resistant to shocks; in particular, the envelope may be made of a circular section tube section closed at its two longitudinal ends by a plastic closure disc-shaped, which can be welded or glued to the tube tightly.

According to a preferred embodiment, the casing has a cylindrical shape, in particular a prismatic shape, particularly a rectangular parallelepiped shape; these forms facilitate the production of the envelope, especially by molding. The attachment of the core and shell can be achieved by various means, particularly by bonding or by a mechanical connection.

However, preferably, the bonding is achieved by the mutual nesting core and shell, in particular by molding of the casing around at least a portion of the core: thus leads to the creation of a connection mechanical connection between the core and the shell, by adhesion and / or core enclosure in a cavity formed inside the envelope.

The molding of the envelope around the core helps protect it. According to a preferred embodiment, the core is obtained by molding a composition comprising a plastics material mixed with the ashes, and the envelope is also obtained by molding a plastic material around the core.

The following description of exemplary embodiments of the invention refers to the accompanying drawings which illustrate, without limitation:

1. Urn (1), characterized in that it comprises a first part or core (2) which contains ash mixed with a binder, and a second part or shell (3) which is integral with the core and which is at least partially transparent.

10. A method of manufacturing a ballot box (1) comprising ash, which comprises the following operations:
- mixing the ash with a binder to obtain a molding composition, - molding a core object or from the molding composition,
- overmolding the molded article or core to include at least in part in a translucent or transparent envelope.
11. The method of claim 10, wherein a polyester resin is used as binder.
12. The method of claim 10 or 11, wherein the ash and the binder are mixed in substantially equal volumes.
13. A method according to any one of claims 10 to 12, wherein a deformable mold is used for molding the article or core.
14. A method according to any one of claims 10 to 13, wherein the object is molded core or in two successive casting of acrylic resin.
15. A method according to any one of claims 10 to 14 which further comprises the following successive finishing operations of the external faces of the casing: machining, sanding, polishing.
16. Urn obtainable by a process according to any one of claims 10 to 15.
