Abstract

The invention relates to a method for testing products for their authenticity, and security features used therefor. A test person is provided with or informed of a test field on and/or in an object when taking over or buying the object to be tested, said test field substantially consisting of images, test zones and security elements. The test person scans the test field by means of a test device that does not detect the visually recognizable images in the test field but the test zones likewise present in the test field. The test device decodes the measured values as an identical or non-identical reproduction of the images. The test person compares the mages present in the test field on the object to be tested with the reproduction of the decoded measured values on the display of the test device and recognizes the authenticity of the tested object. The test person does not know the number, arrangement, geometry and properties of the test zone(s) and/or the security features nor their physical properties.
