Abstract

The invention relates to an electrical device, especially a device for use in a laboratory or hospital. The inventive device comprises an interface for connection to a control device. The interface is provided with electronics (18) that store vital data of the device, such as manufacturer, product number and technical data.

Description

ELECTRIC DEVICE

The invention relates to an electrical apparatus, in particular laboratory or clinically applicable device, with a connection interface for connection to a control or regulating device.

Electrical devices of this type are micrograph in different versions with different characteristics, particularly with regard to things like performance, operating temperature, consumption, input voltage, etc., manufactured and used. If such devices with an external control or regulating device can be operated, it is necessary in any case, to determine the data of the electrical device and to adjust the control or regulating device accordingly. As an example, as heating and temperature control devices can are not only mentioned, which are used in the clinical setting, such as electrically heated hot water bottles or heating pads or tempering devices for infusion solutions here.

Since electrical devices of this type can have different operating characteristics up, it is necessary when replacing a new device from a damaged unit or even in the transition as a more powerful device, reset the control or regulating device. This is not only cumbersome and time consuming, but can also require the intervention of the manufacturer's customer service.

The invention is therefore based on the object to provide an electric device of the above character which can be operated with a separate control or regulating device without a previous setting of the control or regulating device.

This object is achieved erfindungsgemäJ3 in an apparatus of the aforementioned type characterized in that an electronic unit is provided in the interface, which stores the essential data of the device, such as manufacturer, production number and technical data. In this manner a possibility is created to query the data of an electrical or electronic device already at the most upstream interface by the associated controller and automatically adjust the corresponding control.

The concept of electrical and electronic equipment must be interpreted broadly here. These may also be individual sensors or actuators and a combination of such parts. In many high-quality equipment of this kind of substitute units are supplied by mail order from the manufacturer at disturbances. It is therefore a major advantage when replacement devices can be used immediately and by no nerlei setting or adjustment with the control or regulating device is no longer required. Preferably, the electronics that stores the data of the device, only by the manufacturer, and not by the user of the device writable memory (ROM). The data will remain once the use of the device has been added, unchanged and can be permanently read out from the one used to control the device control or regulating device.

The memory is preferably located on a printed circuit card which is inserted into the connector in the region between the contact pins. Claims

1. An electrical apparatus, in particular laboratory or clinically applicable device, with a connection interface for connection to a control or regulating device, characterized in that an electronic unit in the interface (18) is provided, the essential data of the device, such as manufacturers, production number and technical data stores.
2. Electrical device according to claim 1, characterized in that the electron electronics (18) for storing the essential data of the device by the user of the device not alterable memory (ROM).
3. Electrical device according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the interface in the region of a connecting cable of the device is arranged.
4. Electrical device according to claim 3, characterized in that the interface is arranged in a plug at the end of the connecting cable.
