Abstract

The outer double rear-view mirror can be used in automobiles and comprises a housing (2) that can be coupled to a support (1) that is mounted on the structure of the vehicle. Detailed description of the embodiment.

The double door mirror comprises a holder 1 attachable to the vehicle body (not shown), and a housing 2 attachable to the support 1, so that it can be rotated about the latter to occupy, for example and among others, the position vehicle parking. The lower housing 4 is adapted to accommodate an additional mirror 9, provided that the vehicle driver can watch the dead zone of the mirror 8 arranged on the upper housing 3, thereby allowing viewing the vehicle or vehicles that follow. Alternatively, the additional mirror 9 is adapted to allow the vehicle driver to watch the side thereof and the corresponding rear wheel, thus facilitating greatly parking maneuvers. It is understood that both ends of the additional mirror 9 are exclusive to each other, and that the adoption of one or other visual field provided by the additional mirror 9, is given source on demand.

The additional mirror 9 occupies a fixed relative to the housing 2, which can, for example, be determined in origin for each type of vehicle position so that viewed from the driver position image, both for the exterior mirror left as to the right side, is that which corresponds to the above purposes of the additional mirror 9.

As indicated above, the additional mirror 9 can be adapted for viewing the blind angle zone, not shown, the mirror 8.

The double door mirror according to the invention as embodiment described, provides for a comprehensive solution to the above-discussed disadvantages of the known embodiments of door mirrors provided with several mirrors to display dead zone areas and / or sides of the vehicle. The characteristic arrangement (conventional) mirror 8 and the additional mirror 9 into two lower 4 respectively separate accommodations, upper 3 and separated by a transverse partition 5 whose front edge 6 connects with the front edge 7 of the housing 2, gives a clear and intuitive visual field distinction both mirrors 8 and 9 provide the vehicle driver, limiting, if not impossible, to confusion as to the visual field observed.
