Abstract

The invention relates to a method for producing laminate coatings, in particular, for floor plates. The floor plates comprise a decorative paper that is impregnated with an amino resin and comprise an abrasionproof covering layer which is arranged thereon and which is provided with particle-shaped, fine aluminum oxide (corundum). According to the inventive method, the particle-shaped aluminum oxide is spread onto the wet impregnated decorative paper before drying the same. The decorative paper treated in such a manner is then pre-dried or pre-condensed. After drying, a covering layer comprised of fibrous material containing melamine resin is applied to the pretreated decorative paper. Finally, the entire assembly is completely dried.

Description

A process for producing laminate coatings, and laminate-coating

The invention relates to a method for producing laminate coatings, which are particularly suitable for floor panels and determines which comprises an impregnated with amino resin and Dekσrpapier disposed thereon abrasion-resistant covering layer with particulate fine aluminum oxide (corundum). Moreover, the invention relates to such a laminate coating.

It is known (DE 195 08 797 Cl) to produce abrasion-resistant laminate coatings for floor plates so as exhibiting on the visible surface of a Dekαrpapieres, after the impregnation thereof with resin, and drying to a residual humidity, an abrasion-resistant mineral components of fine particle size viscous mixture of melamine resin, cellulose-fibers, corundum, additives and water is applied in an amount such that the coating has a thickness of 20 to 60 .mu.m after reaching the final moisture content, whereupon the so-coated decor sheet in at least one further working step is dried to the final moisture content.

In this previously known method is applied to the impregnated with melamine resin and dried paper, a viscous mixture containing the abrasion resistance of the finished product defining fine-grained aluminum oxide or corundum, is applied. The fine-grained corundum particles are distributed more or less uniformly in the group formed by the viscous mixture cover layer and are therefore also at the surface of the cover layer.

It is further known to produce laminate coatings for floor plates so that an overlay is applied to the top or view side of an impregnated with amino resin and melamine resin decorative paper, the abrasion resistance effecting on top of an existing paper substrate comprises fine-grained particles of alumina or corundum. These two known methods require two separate steps, namely on the one hand the production of a particle containing the corundum separate mixture, and applying the same, and on the other hand the preparation of a separately be applied overlays. In this respect, these prior methods are relatively expensive and therefore not very economical.

A further and much more significant disadvantage is that press plates or press belts used for machine finishing the laminate coatings are damaged by the at the surface of the laminates corundum particles by abrasion, resulting in a relatively rapid graying of the surfaces of the finished laminate coatings leads. Therefore, the press plates or used in application of the known preparation techniques consisting of sheet metal press belts must be relatively frequently reworked on the surface or reground to compensate for dulling the surfaces thereof. The service life of the press plates or press belts is therefore relatively short.

Reworking the surfaces of the press plates or press belts causes not only high processing cost, but also downtimes of the correspondingly equipped presses, whereby the efficiency in the abrasion-resistant coatings producing the laminate is adversely affected.

An object of the invention is based on the production of wear-resistant laminate coatings render more economical than before.

This object is inventively achieved by a method having the features of claim 1.

Advantageous embodiments of the invention are subject matter of further claims.

According to the present invention in a single pass a laminate coating for floor panels or similar applications that the press plates can be produced, wherein the abrasion resistance of the laminate coating producing particles are such encapsulated in fine aluminum oxide or aluminum oxide on the surface of the coating, can not damage or press bands of the machines or presses used to make the laminate coatings.

The ink applied to the impregnated decorative paper after the sprinkling of the particulate aluminum oxide cover layer of melamine resin-containing fiber material is transparent, so that the decor of the decor paper is readily visible. Due to the coverage of the particles the abrasion resistance of the final product produced during the manufacture of the laminate coating of the machine or press can not be expected graying and thus a deterioration of the surface of the laminate coating produced even after prolonged use of the press plates or press belts.

In other words, the surface of the laminate according to the invention remains clear coating because the applied as encapsulation for the corundum particles nonwoven fiber does not alter the visibility of the decoration of the decorative paper or non beeintächtigt, on the other hand, the press plates or press belts of the protects the production of the presses used laminate coating or other manufacturing machines against premature wear.

The laminate coatings of the invention can be applied to particle boards or fiber boards, for example, which are previously provided at the top and / or bottom, respectively with a certain delay to retreat position.

The invention is further illustrated with reference to two embodiments.

Example 1:

A decorative paper with a basis weight of 70 g / m 2 is first soaked in an immersion bath containing melamine resin, wherein the mass is 140 g / m 2 after drying. Corundum is scattered in an amount of 20 g / m 2 on the wet paper web. The paper is then dried at a temperature between 180 ° C to a moisture content of 15%.

In this paper web, a nonwoven fabric having a basis weight of 80 g / m 2 consisting of 80% melamine resin and 20% cellulose fibers is then applied with a length of 60 microns. Subsequently, the final drying is carried out at 180 ° C to a moisture from 6.0 to 6.5%.

The thus prepared lmprägnat is pressed in a short-cycle press at a temperature of 205 ° C, a specific pressure of 2.5 MPa and a press time of 20 s on a HDF panel.

The thus obtained laminate flooring meets the characteristics in accordance with EN 438 and has an abrasion value IP of 10,000.

Example 2:

A decorative paper with a Flächenmassε of 80 g / m 2 is impregnated with a melamine resin, wherein the basis weight is 150 g / m 2 after the subsequent drying. Fine-grained aluminum oxide is spread in an amount of 8 g / m 2 on the wet paper web. The paper web is then dried at 210 ° C to a moisture content of 12%. Subsequently, a nonwoven fabric of 40 g / m 2, is applied consisting of 85% of melamine resin and 15% glass fibers having a length of 3 mm and a diameter of 10 microns. claims:
1. A process for producing laminate coatings, in particular for floor panels, which have an impregnated with amino resin decorative paper and having thereon a wear-resistant covering layer, with particulate, fine aluminum oxide (corundum), dadurchekennzeichnet that the particulate aluminum oxide to the still sprinkled wet impregnated decorative paper before drying, then pre-dried, the decorative paper so treated or pre-condensed, after the predrying on the pre-treated decorative paper, a cover layer of melamine resin-containing coated fiber material and finally the whole is finally dried.
2. The method according to claim 1, characterized in that a melamine resin-containing nonwoven fabric is applied to the decorative paper as the covering layer.
3. The method of claim 1 or 2, characterized in that aluminum oxide or corundum having a particle size of about 125 μ is spread on the decorative paper.
4. The method according to any one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the basis weight of the coated decorative paper after drying of about 140 to 150 g / m 2.
5. The method according to any one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the aluminum oxide is spread in an amount of about 20 g / m 2.
6. The method according to any one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the aluminum oxide is spread in a quantity of some 8 g / m 2.
