Abstract

Corkscrew consisting of an upper section in which the operating mechanism for the spiral spike to be screwed into the cork is fitted. A lower section, which consists of a sleeve to be slid over the neck of the bottle, adjoins the upper section. According to the invention, a clamping movement is produced by said sliding movement, such that the corkscrew is firmly attached to the bottle while the spiral spike is being screwed in. Said grip on the bottle neck can be released by pulling up the spiral spike.
