Abstract

The invention relates to a safety device for locking elements on doors or similar. The device has at least one covering element (1) with which at least some of the corresponding locking element (2, 12; 13, 15) of the door (4) and door frame (8) can be entirely or partially covered in such a way that these locking elements (2, 12; 13, 15) are prevented from interacting in the way that they normally would to lock the door. The inventive covering element (1) provides a means of specifically cutting out some of the locking elements (2, 12; 13, 15) of a usual commercial locking device on a door (4), a window or any other device which can be locked in the same way, and can therefore be used to reliably prevent a door (4) from e.g., being locked unintentionally by a child or locking against the will of the user.

The invention relates to a securing device for locking elements on doors or the like. According to the preamble of claim 1.

Conventional doors, windows or other devices closing openings provided by the customer generally have locking elements which provide for automatic locking of the locking elements in the closed state. For example, a mortise lock is usually provided on a commercially available door, the locking elements of which, namely a lock bolt for locking and a lock latch for locking the door in the closed state, interact with a striking plate arranged on the frame. In this case, both the lock latch and the lock bolt enter the associated openings in the striking plate in the closed state of the door and thus form a positive locking of the door. Here, the function of the lock bolt is triggered consciously by the user by means of a closing movement of a key or the like, whereas the lock latch latches largely automatically by spring force after the door has been closed into the opening of the striking plate.

This function of the lock latch, which is important for most doors for security reasons, but also of the lock bolt, can be disruptive or even threatening in certain cases of use of locking elements on doors or the like. For example, it can lead to considerable problems if, in a household with children, certain rooms in an apartment are equipped with conventional locking elements for doors that children can use unintentionally or intentionally. If, for example, a small child locks a door from one side using the key, this door cannot be opened from the other side using normal means. A similar situation can exist if e.g. in a multi-party house, the apartment door is left open during short errands in the house and the door closes without the owner's intervention and thus locks out the apartment owner.

Special locks are known, in particular for doors in locking systems, which enable the function of the lock latch and lock bolt to be switched on and off in a targeted manner by means of the lever provided on the lock side. Here, the lever acts on components of the lock, so that, for example, on a door with a knob provided on one side, the lock latch does not have to be pushed back by a door handle, but simply pulls back in the opening direction and the door is opened can. However, such locks are expensive and must be provided by the customer, a retrofitting of the opening function can only be guaranteed by a complex exchange of the entire lock.

It is therefore an object of the present invention to be able to prevent individual locking elements of a door or the like from being closed in a targeted manner and with simple means, this prevention of closing being to be easy to retrofit, particularly on commercially available locking elements.

The achievement of the object according to the invention results from the characterizing features of claim 1 in cooperation with the features of the generic term. Further advantageous embodiments of the invention result from the subclaims.

The invention is based on a securing device for locking elements on doors or the like. Such locking elements can be, for example, commercial combinations of lock and striking plate. In the manner according to the invention, the securing device has at least one cover element with which at least some of the associated closure elements of the door and door frame can be covered in whole or in part in such a way that the intended interaction of these closure elements is prevented. It is thereby achieved that the one or more locking elements of the door and door frame covered by the cover element cannot work in the intended manner and thus functions of the respective locking elements are specifically blocked. In this way, for example, the resilient latching function of a lock latch or the locking function of a lock bolt can be specifically prevented without having to intervene on the lock or striking plate. E.g. the lock latch can be specifically prevented from being locked or locked with the lock bolt.

In a particularly advantageous manner, the cover element has at least one essentially flat, sheet-like plate, with which the cover element engages between the closure elements in a proper arrangement. In a first further development, at least one leg of the cover element in the installed state covers the areas of the striker or the like assigned to the lock latch or the lock bolt of the lock of the door or the like, provided with openings, or the like. As a result, in addition to the good contact of the angled cover element on the likewise angled striking plate, the cover element of the lock latch or lock bolt is pressed against the striking plate in the closed state of the door, which results in a self-securing fixing of the covering element on the striking plate. The fixing of the cover element on the striking plate then only has to exert low holding forces.

In another development, one leg of the cover element in the installed state covers the lock latch or the lock bolt of the lock of the door or the like. As a result, e.g. unfavorable locking plate-side installation conditions, a cover of the lock-side locking elements can be guaranteed, e.g. the fixing of the cover element on the lock must at least overcome the restoring force of the lock spring in its extended rest position.

In all configurations, the other leg surface of the cover element can be fixed on adjacent areas of the lock or the striking plate. As a result, the cover element is visible even in the closed state of the door, whereby on the one hand an optical identification of the presence of the Cover element is present and the cover element can be operated even when the door is closed.

In a further embodiment, the dimensions of the cover element arranged between the lock and the strike plate are selected such that, in the intended arrangement, at least the sections of the lock or strike plate assigned to the lock latch and / or the lock bolt are covered in such a way that the function of the lock bolt and / or lock latch is blocked is. A full coverage is not necessary, since even a partial coverage reliably prevents the movement of the lock latch or lock bolt.

In particular, it is of great advantage if the longitudinal extent of the cover element is selected such that the cover element can be fixed between the latch latch and the latch bolt in the non-actuated state in such a way that neither the function of the latch bolt or latch latch is blocked. As a result, the cover element can remain on the lock or striking plate even when it is not to be actuated and can therefore not be lost. It is also grateful to arrange a cover element for the lock latch and the lock bolt on the lock or the striking plate on a door or the like in order to specifically prevent one or both locking functions of a door.

It is particularly advantageous if the cover element can be releasably attached to the striking plate or the lock of the door or the like. In a further embodiment, the cover element can be slidably attached to the striking plate or the lock of the door or the like, so that the closure elements can be covered and removed again by simply moving the cover element laterally in the longitudinal direction of the door.

A cover element can be operated and manufactured particularly easily if the cover element is at least partially magnetic, so that the cover element can be automatically adhered to the metal striking plate or the metal lock of the door or the like. As a result, no additional fastening elements on the cover element or the door or the door frame are necessary, and the cover element can also be removed without residue. The cover element itself can consist of a magnetic material, or at least one magnetically active section can be provided on the cover element formed from a non-magnetic carrier material. For example, the cover element can be formed from a plastic in which magnetic elements are embedded.

In a further embodiment, it is conceivable to provide the cover element at least in sections with inscriptions, colored designs or the like in order to produce an appealing exterior of the cover element. FIG. 1 shows a typical installation situation of a door, consisting of a door leaf 4 with a mortise lock 5 arranged therein, which is inserted with its lock plate 6 into a cavity provided in the door leaf 4. In the mortise lock 5, a lock latch 2 is guided on the top in a guide 17 transversely to the longitudinal extent of the door leaf 4 and is supported by means of a compression spring 16. In the normal state of the closed door leaf 4, the lock latch 2 is arranged in an extended position towards the striking plate 3 on the door frame 8, the lock latch 2 passing through an approximately rectangular opening 12 in the closing plate 3 and thus securing the door leaf 4 in its position. A cover element according to the invention is shown in FIG. 1 in section and is designated in its entirety by item number 1. legs 9, 10 which are arranged to one another and form an L-shaped angle. This cover element 1 is now arranged between the lock latch 2 and the striking plate 3 in such a way that the lock latch 2 springs out but can only emerge from the guide 17 with its front edge up to the leg 10 of the cover element 1. As a result, the lock latch 2 does not snap into the opening 12 of the striking plate 3, so that the door leaf 4 can be brought into its closed position, but is not held there particularly firmly. The door leaf can thus be closed, but can be opened again in the opening direction by light pressure on the door leaf 4. At the same time, the essentially sheet-like legs 9, 10 of the cover element 1, which are designed with only a small wall thickness, ensure that the door leaf 4 is prevented from jamming or not closing completely.

In a corresponding manner, the cover element 1 can of course also be arranged on the closing plate 3 in such a way that it prevents the door leaf 4 from being closed with the lock bolt 15 (not shown) in an analogous manner.

Not visible in the drawing, the cover element 1 is made of a magnetic material or is formed in such a way that it carries magnetic parts which interact with the striking plate 3, which is usually made of a magnetizable material. As a result, the exact position of the cover element 1 can be easily secured, since no additional holding elements are required due to the magnetic holder.

In FIG. 2a, the arrangement of striking plate 3 and cover element 1 described for FIG. 1 is shown in a spatial view. The striking plate 3 has the two openings 12 and 13 for the lock latch 2 and lock bolt 15 and holes 11 for fastening screws, not shown, and is itself of an angular design similar to the cover element 1.
