Abstract

A universally applicable intramedullary nail (1) for the treatment of complex fractures of the upper arm, thigh and lower leg, comprising 5 bore holes (2-6) on the proximal end of the nail and 3 bore holes (9, 10, 11) on the distal end thereof. The inventive nail is associated with an auxiliary target device enabling the attachment screws to be placed on the proximal end.

Description

Universell anwendbarer Marknagel mit zugehörigem Zielgerät Universally applicable intramedullary nail with associated target device
Beschreibung:Description:
The universal implant system is one of the biomechanical aids of medical technology for the treatment of broken bones on long bones. In accordance with the prior art, severe bone fractures on tubular bones are opened by opening the bones at one end and introducing a so-called intramedullary nail, which is spread apart or locked by means of screws which are screwed into the bone through holes transverse to the nail axis. A wide variety of designs have developed which can be used for the upper arm, upper leg and lower leg. For reasons of economical storage and standardization and thus simplification of the applicability, a universal implant system which can be used on all 3 long bones is desirable. This is solved according to the invention with the universal implant system as described below:
Eine spezielle Schraube (16) fixiert es im Innengewinde (13) des Nagels (1).The universal intramedullary nail (1) is used to treat complex fractures of the upper arm, thigh and lower leg. 5 holes in the proximal and 3 in the distal nail end should allow locking in the sagital and frontal plane of the respective bone end. There is a sagittal thin hole (2) in the proximal end for locking the upper arm or shin head. The holes (3) and (5) are used to lock the upper arm or shin head in the frontal plane and are thicker. The holes (4) and (6) are made even thicker and accommodate screws for fixing the femoral neck to the thigh in the sagita plane at an angle of 120 ° - 140 °. At the distal nail end (12) there is a thin hole (10) in the sagittal and two thin holes (9, 11) in the frontal plane for receiving screws in the upper arm and shin end or in the upper arm, thigh and Shin ends. The proximal nail end is thickened starting distal to the hole (6). A 6 ° - 12 ° curve leads to the thinner, round shaft. The nail lengths range from 200 - 400mm and are graded in steps. The universal aiming device (15) is used to lock the proximal nail end. It is placed on the nail so that it fits into the orientation groove of the nail (14) with its orientation tongue (25). A special screw (16) fixes it in the internal thread (13) of the nail (1).
This screw has a knurled head (23), which is used to tighten the screw by hand and drive in the nail. There is a hexagon (24) below the head for tightening the screw. The drill sleeve guides (17, 18, 19) serve to accommodate screw sleeves (26) and drill sleeves (27) for setting locking screws in the frontal plane on the upper arm or thigh and in the sagittal plane on the shinbone head. The drill sleeve-ifli stanchions (21, 22) are intended for locking in the frontal plane on the shinbone head and are located on a crossbar (20) of the aiming device that can be implemented for right and left (shinbone head!), Which is secured with the screws (28.) and dowel pin (31) is fixed on the required side. A handle (29) is used to hold the target device.
