Abstract

L'invention concerne un appareil destiné au traitement d'un revêtement (10) de cathode d'une cellule à extraction électrolytique d'aluminium, lorsque cette cellule est hors d'usage, et comprenant: des moyens de traitement (44, 45) destinés à traiter le revêtement (10) de cellule; des moyens de support (20, 30, 40) montés au moins temporairement sur la cellule et soutenant les moyens de traitement (44, 45) en vue d'un déplacement de ces derniers sur le revêtement (10) de cathode; et un moyen d'actionnement (33, 41) destiné à déplacer lesdits moyens de traitement (44, 45) sur le revêtement (11) de cathode afin de réaliser un traitement sur celui-ci. Les moyens de support (20, 30, 40) peuvent comprendre en outre des moyens de support (20, 30) longitudinaux destinés à soutenir les moyens de traitement (44, 45) de façon mobile par rapport à un sens longitudinal de la cellule; des moyens de support (30, 40) transversaux destinés à soutenir les moyens de traitement (44, 45) de façon mobile par rapport à un sens transversal de la cellule; et des moyens destinés à ajuster la hauteur des moyens de traitement (44, 45) sur le revêtement (10) de cathode.
