Abstract

In order to eliminate or decrease the need for wrapping and securing of goods without damaging them during transport and to make loading and unloading or other handling of the goods as simple, quick and labour-saving as possible, that side of the goods on which it is to stand is provided with fibre flock. This cooperates with the support in the cargo area or with the upper side of some other package which also is provided with fibre flock. Alternatively, one of the sides may be provided with fibre flock and the opposing side with some other fibre material to which the fibre flock from an opposing surface is fixed by the protruding fibres of the fibre flock gripping into the other fibre material.

Description

Securitysystem of goods
When goods are transported, damage to the goods may occur due to displacement and movement between different packages, whereby they rub against each other and can be damaged. The present invention relates to a method for preventing movement and displacement of goods and a means for use by the method.
Prior art: In order to prevent damage, a large-scale, bulky and costly wrapping or securing of the goods may often be required, which can demand a great deal of work. Often both wrapping and securing are required.
Technical problem:
The problem which is solved by the present invention is to eliminate or decrease the need for wrapping and securing without damaging the goods. Moreover, the loading and unloading and other treatment of the goods shall be made as simple, quick and labour-saving as possible.
Solution:
According to the present invention, that side of the goods on which it is to stand is provided with fibre flock. This cooperates with the support in the loading area or with the upper side of some other goods package which also has been provided with fibre flock. Alternatively, one of the sides may be provided with fibre flock and the opposing side with some other fibre material to which the fibre flock from an opposing surface may be fixed.
The fibre material consists of a needle-felt or some other material which, to a great extent, contains long fibres which, at the surface of the material, are oriented in different directions along the plane of the surface. The fibres may be straight or not straight, for example undulating or curled. The goods or its wrapping is wholly or partly provided with fibre flock on the underside, whereby the flock, in a known way, comprises short fibres which are mainly oriented out from the underside of the surface material and to a great extent perpendicularly outwards. According to the invention, these materials are used to secure the goods against movement during transport, whereby the above-mentioned problem is solved and a reliable fixing of the goods is obtained in that the protruding fibres of the flock are locked by the long fibres of the support which run mainly along the surface. Alternatively to this embodiment, the fibre flock and the support material can change places, whereby the same effect is obtained.
The material which constitutes the support material shall preferably have very little elasticity along the direction of the material surface, whereby no or only limited or occasional fixing of the underlay material to its support will by necessary.
The surfaces of both the goods and the support which are coated with fibre flock or covered with some other material can be covered in their entirety. It is also possible that one or both are only partly covered with the respective fibre material without any change of the function according to the present invention.
The technique of covering a surface with fibre flock is well known. In a preferred embodiment of the present invention a large amount of fibres are used which, by electrostatic application, to a great extent will be fixed perpendicularly to the base. The density of the fibres may be 50-300 fibres per square millimetre, preferably more than 150 fibres per square mm, with a fibre thickness of less than 0.1 mm, preferably less than 0.05 mm and a length of 0.5-5 mm, preferably less than 3 mm.
The invention is not limited to the above-mentioned embodiments but can be varied in different ways within the scope of the claims.

Claims

1. Method for securement of goods to a support during transport, c h a r a c t e r i z e d i n that either the upper side of the support or the underside of the goods at least partly is provided with or is covered by fibre flock and that the opposing side is provided with or covered by fibre flock or some other material having longer fibres in the surface layer.
2. Method according to claim 1, c h a r a c t e r i z e d i n that the support consists of the upper side of a goods package.
3. Method according to claim 1 or 2, c h a r a c t e r i z e d i n that the other material is needle-felt.
4. Method according to claim 1, 2 or 3, c h a r a c t e r i z e d i n that the fibre flock consists of synthetic fibres which, through electrostatic application or in some other way, are applied in an adhesive directly on the goods, on the wrapping of the goods or on the support material.
5. Material for securement of goods, c h a r a c t e r i z e d i n that it consists of fibre flock which is applied directly on the goods or on a carrier intended to be secured to the goods or its wrapping.
6. Use of fibre flock which is applied directly on goods or on a carrier intended to be attached to goods or its wrapping for securement of the goods during transport.
