Abstract

A pipe connector has a pipe whose smooth end section is pushed onto a metallic fitting with at least one elongated, sleeve-shaped area provided with at least one bead-shaped depression for receiving a packing ring and with a stop that extends radially outwards at the beginning of the sleeve-shaped area. Pipe and fitting are permanently joined by a pressing tool applied to the outside of pipe and fitting and which plastically deforms at least the pipe. Pipe (6, 6', 7, 7') and fitting (1) are made of metal, preferably of stainless steel (special steel) and titanium. The packing ring (5, 5') is arranged in a flat recess (4, 4') at the end of the sleeve-shaped area of the fitting (1). Pipe (6, 6', 7, 7') and fitting (1) form in the area between packing ring (5, 5') and stop (2) a deformation point (3') that secures them in the axial direction.

Rohrverbindung Pipe connection

Hauptanspruches.Main claim.
A generic pipe connection is known from Geberit (see excerpt from the company brochure). In this system, a so-called composite pipe is pushed onto a gunmetal fitting, the composite pipe consisting of an inner pipe that transports the liquid with an aluminum jacket and an overlying outer pipe that takes over the external protection. The inner tube and cladding tube are usually made of plastic. The fitting has a region extending in the longitudinal direction, which is provided with a stop, up to which the pipe to be connected is pushed on. The area adjacent to the stop usually has two ring grooves, in each of which a sealing ring is arranged. The rest of the section is heavily contoured so that the tube that is slid on can be molded into the contour during pressing. After being pushed on, a pair of crimping pliers is attached and the pipe is pressed on both in the sealing ring area and in the contoured area. The sealing ring area takes on the sealing function and the contoured area the axial securing. A disadvantage of this system is that the composite pipe can only be used for a narrow temperature and pressure range. Furthermore, the fitting is very complex to produce, since the contoured end regions and the sealing ring region have to be manufactured precisely. Another disadvantage is the remaining gap between the pushed-on pipe and the contoured area of the fitting. Aggressive substances dissolved in the liquid can penetrate this gap and the concentration can increase disproportionately due to multiple evaporation and, in the worst case, lead to so-called gap corrosion. The object of the invention is to provide a pipe connection of the generic type which is also suitable for higher pressures and temperatures and in which the formation of crevice corrosion is avoided. This object is achieved with the features specified in the characterizing part of the main claim. Advantageous further developments are part of subclaims.
Die seit Jahren bewährte metallische Preßverbindung durch Verformung von Rohr und Fitting wird beibehalten, so daß hohe axialeAn advantage of the pipe connection according to the invention is that the required positioning of the pushed-on pipe on the fitting can be recognized directly visually without any additional aids. The metallic press connection, which has been tried and tested for years by deforming the pipe and fitting, is retained, so that high axial
Longitudinal forces and thus high internal pressures can be transmitted. The pipe-fitting transition is gap-free because the sealing ring is located in the end area of the fitting.
The stop is advantageously designed as a roof-like bead, since it can be produced in a simple manner using press machines. The radial depth of the flat recess for the sealing ring should be as small as possible, since this is the cross-section-determined bottleneck of the conduit system. To alleviate the latter problem, it is also proposed to increase the inside diameter of the pipe in the pushed-on area, so that the cross section of the adjoining pipe section corresponds approximately to the inside width in the sealing area of the fitting. This largely avoids pressure losses in the connection area.
The pipe connection according to the invention is explained in more detail using two exemplary embodiments.
Es zeigen:Show it:
Figur 1 einen Längsschnitt durch eine erste Ausführungsform der erfindungsgemäßen Rohrverbindung Figur 2 wie Figur 1 , jedoch eine andere AusführungsformFigure 1 shows a longitudinal section through a first embodiment of the pipe joint according to the invention Figure 2 as Figure 1, but another embodiment
Die Art der Einpressung, z.B. sechskantförmige oder zitronenförmige Segmente hängt ab von der Konturierung des Maules der hier nicht dargestellten Preßbacken.1 shows a longitudinal section of a first embodiment of the pipe connection according to the invention, the left-hand section of the picture showing the pipe connection in the pushed-on state and the right-hand section of the picture showing the pipe connection after the pressing. The core of the connection is a fitting 1, which has a bead-like, radially outwardly extending stop 2. This is followed, at least on one side, by a cylindrical section 3, 3 'extending in the longitudinal direction, which then merges into a section which has, for example, a flat recess 4, 4'. A sealing ring 5.5 'is arranged in this recess 4,4'. In this exemplary embodiment, two smooth-ended conduit pipes 6, 6 'are pushed onto the fitting 1, namely as far as the stop 2. The two pressing points are successively deformed by a pressing tool, not shown here. As already mentioned at the beginning, the right-hand section of the picture shows the pressed state. The deformed section 3 'takes over the axial securing of the pipe connection and section 4' the sealing function. In the first-mentioned section 3 ', both the pushed-on pipe 6' and the fitting section 3 'underneath are deformed. The type of pressing, for example hexagonal or lemon-shaped segments, depends on the contour of the mouth of the pressing jaws, not shown here.
Figure 2 shows a second embodiment, wherein the same reference numerals have been used for the same parts. Here, too, the left section of the picture shows the pipe connection in the pushed-on state and the right section of the picture shows the compressed state. The geometry and shape of the fitting 1 is unchanged as in FIG. 1. The pipe end sections are designed differently. The smooth-ended pipes 7, 7 'have a widened section 8, 8' in the push-on area on the fitting 1. This is chosen so that the inside width 9.9 'of the actual conduit 7.7' corresponds approximately to the inside width 10.10 'of the fitting 1 in the sealing area. This largely prevents pressure losses in the connection area.
