Abstract
A holder for supporting a cellular phone inside a vehicle includes a plate (1) provided in front with a pair of loops (3) through which a band (4) having an adjustable fastening (5) of the 'Velcro'® type passes. The plate (1) is provided with removable fixing members consisting of a pair of toothed nippers (7) suitable to be inserted in the grid of a mouth of the ventilation system of a vehicle. The nippers (7) are mounted on the plate (1) by means of shaped ends (8) inserted into correspondingly shaped connections (6) formed on the rear of the plate (1). The plate (1) is also provided with rear pegs (9) to hang it to the belt.
Description
"EASILY REMOVABLE HOLDER FOR SUPPORTING A CELLULAR PHONE INSIDE A VEHICLE"
The present invention relates to holders used for supporting a cellular phone inside a vehicle, and in particular to a holder suitable to be mounted and dismounted with great ease and to house cellular phones of different size.
It is known that a cellular phone can be fixed inside a car by means of a holder mounted on the dashboard or directly on the car structure. The mounting of this kind of known holders requires elements, such as screws or the like, which involve making holes in the structure to which the holder is fixed. This implies that the dismounting is not very easy, and leaves anyway said holes in sight.
A further drawback of the present holders comes from the fact that they are made with a particular size for a specific model of cellular phone, or they adapt to different sizes by means of a mechanism with reciprocating jaws which makes the holder more cumbersome, expensive and delicate.
Therefore, the object of the present invention is to provide a holder for cellular phones which overcomes the above-mentioned drawbacks.
This object is achieved by means of a holder having the characteristics cited in claim 1.
A first apparent advantage of the holder according to the present invention is the possibility of mounting it on a car and dismounting it therefrom with great ease and without causing permanent damages such as holes or the like.
A second advantage of the present holder is its adaptability to different models of cellular phone yet retaining a very simple, cheap and small structure. These and other advantages and characteristics of the device according to the present invention will be apparent to those skilled in the art from the following detailed description of a preferred embodiment thereof referring to the annexed drawings wherein: Fiα.1 is a front view of the present holder; Fiα.2 is a rear view of the holder from which the fixing members have been removed;
Fiα.3 is a perspective view of the above-mentioned fixing members; and
Fiα.4 is a side view of the complete holder supporting a cellular phone. Referring to fig.1 , there is seen that a holder according to the present invention includes a rectangular plate 1 provided with two semicircular side projections 2. An elastic band 4 preferably closed in an adjustable way, e.g. by means of a "velcro" fastening 5, passes through two loops 3 integrally formed on said projections 2. Plate 1 is preferably made of a plastic material, and its width is such as to be able to receive between loops 3 even the widest cellular phone.
A pair of square connections 6 shaped for the lateral insertion of the fixing members, shown in fig.3, are integrally formed on the rear of plate 1 , shown in fig.2. Said fixing members consist of toothed nippers 7 whose rear ends are correspondingly shaped for the insertion into connections 6. Nippers 7 are preferably made of rubber and have such a cross-section as to allow the insertion thereof in the grid of a mouth of the car's ventilation system.
In this way, the object of the present invention is achieved of mounting the holder in an easily removable manner and without causing permanent damage. The elasticity of band 4 and the adjustable fastening 5 thereof allow to support a cellular phone of any thickness, as shown in fig.4. Furthermore, the present holder is very cheap to manufacture in that it consists of four simple members only, namely plate 1 , band 4 and the pair of nippers 7. It should be noted that the removability of the latter allows the replacement thereof with other nippers suitable for grids of different mesh-size and/or with spare nippers in case of breakage.
It should also be noted that in this way plate 1 can remain attached to the cellular phone, and then nippers 7 are inserted thereon to fix in onto the grid when you get inside the car. The phone with plate 1 attached thereon can be more easily taken along by forming rear elements on plate 1 for hanging it to the belt or to the breast pocket, such as for example integral pegs 9. This is a further advantage of the holder according to the present invention. It is clear that the above-described and illustrated embodiment of the holder according to the invention is just an example susceptible of various
modifications. In particular, the shape of plate 1 may be somewhat changed, as well as the shape of the coupling between connections 6 and ends 8 of nippers 7, and also that of pegs 9. Nippers 7 can possibly be replaced by other fixing members, such as suckers or the like, which allow an easy removability without permanent damage on other surfaces like the windows or the dashboard panels.
