Abstract

Un paquet de plaques d'extinction (1) pour une chambre d'extinction d'arc se compose de plusieurs tôles d'extinction placées dans une pièce de maintien (4) en forme de U, réalisée dans un matériau isolant. Des orifices de sortie d'arc électrique (14) sont pratiqués dans l'âme de la pièce de maintien (4), qui est opposée à l'entrée de l'arc. L'âme comporte, sur son côté extérieur, deux nervures (15, 16) sinueuses qui augmentent l'entrefer entre des orifices de sortie d'arc électrique (14) adjacents. Cette structure permet d'éviter que des décharges ne surviennent à l'extérieur, bien que les orifices de sortie d'arc électrique (14) soient suffisamment grands pour que les gaz ionisés d'arc électrique puissent s'échapper librement du paquet de plaques d'extinction (1). Conjointement avec les parois du boîtier dans lequel se trouve le paquet de plaques d'extinction (1), les nervures (15, 16) forment au total trois canaux pour l'écoulement des gaz, ce qui favorise l'écoulement des gaz d'arc électrique.
