Abstract

The invention applies to the technical centralized management, and particularly to the monitoring and managing of industrial, agricultural, urban and leisure sites. The device of the invention is particularly characterized by the architecture of the site beacons which comprise each a component of the ASIC type (1) connected to a terminal block (5) and connected to a configuration module (2) by means of at least 13 wire connections. Appropriate devices such as switches (6) or a magnetic tape reproducer (3) connected to a decoder (4) provide to the module (2) at least 169 different states and determine the operation frequency and the function of the site beacons (10).

Description

A monitoring, management and remote control of several sites at a central point by means of auto¬ configurable tags.

The invention relates to building automation. It aims to improve, making them more flexible, more economical and more efficient facilities used for the monitoring, management and control of a plurality of remote locations apart from a central point. The fields of application of the invention covers all application areas of building management, namely, remote monitoring and remote management. Users areas are extremely broad and include housing, industry, agriculture and recreation. More generally, the invention has applications in all cases where it is necessary to monitor, manage and remotely control a plurality of remote sites from each other, it is not possible or desirable for technical or economic reasons to create a wired connection between sites and the central point. The invention is indeed more specifically to monitoring tags, management or control communicating with a central unit by a wireless link, preferably carried out by radio.

Many solutions have been proposed to achieve centralized technical management systems. In all cases, there is firstly a central unit, comprising generally a data processing module and a transceiver module, and secondly a plurality of tags in communication with the central unit either by radio or by wire, or by light or infrared channel. It is noted however that the present mode of design and production of tags required in all cases achieving specific tags, or at least specifically tailored for each application of the centralized technical management. Moreover, within the same application, you may need to provide some tags functions or differentiated roles: some tags have a simple role of issuing alerts, others are used to transmit orders, others must memorize information. building automation system manufacturers must create specific tags for each application, and i'intérieur each application, appropriate tags to the various desired functions. Although a number of common elements are used, such as housings, power cards and some logic boards, the cost of design and construction of these tags remains particularly high, which is not compatible with the wide dissemination of building management systems that should cause many potential offered by them. This fact is explained by the purchase price of the individual components to give such a tag or that feature, and the cost of the implementation of the said components inside a tag. Some systems on the market in fact use relatively standardized tags, but in this case, we note firstly that these tags have a large number of excess components relative to the functions required of them, components whose cost purchase and implementation burden the price it cost systems and secondly the cost of adapting these tags to desired functions is a significant barrier, given the qualification requirements for people performing this adaptation.

The invention proposes to make building management systems integrating tags whose fashion design and implementation allows to overcome the drawbacks mentioned above. More generally, the invention is characterized by an architecture tag that is compatible not only with the use of a single type of tags for different applications from each other, but also with the allocation of a among several different functions, as needed, to each of these tags used in the same application.

A main object of the invention is to provide remote monitoring and remote management systems that are easily adaptable to very varied uses, while using the same standardized tags to each other and mass-produced.

An additional objective of the invention is to facilitate the tags configuration setting operations, and to ensure that these operations can be performed including by users or visitors to sites with so-called tags, even though these users would have any special skills. A further object of the invention to enable a substantial reduction in the cost of components for building management systems and a significant cost savings in design, implementation and operation of such systems. Ultimately, the present invention aims, thanks to the flexibility and economies of scale it generates, to expand the scope of centralized technical management.

These objects, and others which will become apparent hereinafter are achieved with facilities comprising, in conventional manner, on the one hand a central unit comprising a system for processing and storing information and a unit transmission / reception and also a plurality of tags to be implanted in the sites to be monitored, managed and controlled from the central unit.

An essential advantage of the invention is that instead of using tags designed and built for each application and for each function and / or set of functions within a single application, building management systems as the invention employ only a single tag type whose design and the embodiment not only allows use in various applications but particularly specialization, performed particularly easily and quickly, each tag one or more functions chosen by the user.

An additional advantage of the invention is that the functions assigned to a particular tag are not fixed once and for all, but can be easily and quickly modified by the system operator or by such user with appropriate key .

Another advantage of the proposed system is that the possibility of adapting the same tags for different applications, and, as part of the same application to different functions, is not obtained at the cost of increased complexity of said beacons, but, on the contrary, by simplifying and streamlining the implementation of these elements, which can significantly lower their cost and installation cost.

These advantages are conferred on tags in that they consist of a main board having a component type "Applied Silicon Integreted Circuit", i.e. "integrated circuit on a silicon chip having a specific application" commonly known as the "ASIC" which will be used later in the present description, connected firstly to a control module, these two elements being interconnected by at least 13 wired connections, 3 of these bonds being affected the selection of frequencies and the other ten being used to provide the desired functions tag and secondly to a terminal block for receiving information and / or energy or to issue commands to or from the medium. The ASIC component is self configurable. In other words, this component will be able to receive and store information that will effectively impart a given state. This information obtained from a part of the integrated control module to the tag to which the component is connected and, on the other, by radio, the center point during each communication sequence initiated by the latter; thus, intervals and duration of questions, ie the windowing, will be ordained to each tag that will comply with these guidelines for the next cycle. Consequently, from strictly identical tags and mass-produced, the manufacturer or the system installer may adapt these to a given application. In a second step, the user will confer, by means of the control module and the terminal block and orders issued by the central point, one of several possible functions to each of the beacons installed on site to manage or monitor.

Other features and advantages of the invention appear in the following description of a preferred embodiment of the invention, given merely for guidance, and the accompanying drawings in which:

FIGURE 3 shows the mode of connection of the various internal elements characterizing a tag according to the invention.

It is noted that the device according to the invention comprises several levels of intervention. The first level is the site that must receive supervision or control. At this site, installing a plurality of sensors (12), actuators (13) or the meter (14). By sensor, for example temperature sensors or humidity means, level sensors or Ph, fire detectors, intrusion. The actuators are relays for switching on and regulation of engines or machines. The counters are for example circuits emitting a pulse per unit event occurring on the process to be monitored. Each sensor (12) actuator (13) or counter (14) located on the site is connected to a tag (10). Alternatively, a tag may be associated with several sensors and / or actuators. Each tag has an antenna (11) which allows it to exchange radio signals with a master tag (20) located at the point of centralizing information. This master tag (20) which transmits and receives information via a * antenna (21) is connected to a motherboard (22), this latter can return the information it collects, for example by means of 'a printer. The set of a master tag (21) and a motherboard (22) forms a central point, which represents the second level of a device according to the invention. Between a master tag (20) and site tags it is likely to fly, tags whose number is between 1 and 512 will be chosen to perform all radio links on a single frequency, called frequency website . Note that it is possible SELECTER up to 9 different frequencies; accordingly, we have the ability to manage up to 9 different sites or areas, each comprising up to 512 tags. We will then have nine masters tags, connected to as many motherboards. Each of the motherboards can be connected to an information processor (24) preferably formed by a computer type IBM PC (trademark of International Business Machine) or compatible, which is the third level of the device the invention. The connection between the information processor (24) and the or motherboards (22) may be carried out using the switched telephone network (23), each of the motherboard (22) being provided with a modem and a storage device which automatically dialing. Moreover, the connection of motherboards (22) switched telephone network (23) allows the use of simple Minitel positions to check the system status or to send him orders.

So we see that the architecture of the device according to the invention allows to consider the extremely varied applications, and enjoying great flexibility in the design and implementation of systems. Note in particular that made systems are not fixed but can change depending on user needs.

Indeed, once a device of the invention installed, it is possible to add as many sites of tags needed (within the limit of 512 tags per site). It is also possible to change the assignment of a particular tag, simply by acting on the control module (2) including the so-called tag features, and possibly by changing the sensors (12), actuators (13) or counters ( 14) to which it is connected via its terminal block (5). Finally, and this is particularly important, it can also decide to assign one or more site tags to a different focus from that to which they were originally connected by radio; it is sufficient for this purpose to act on the control module (2) which is connected to the main component of the tag, namely the ASIC (1) self-configurable, as illustrated in Figure 3.

This ASIC type main component (1) consists of a silicon chip, a small thickness relative to its surface, which have been integrated on the one hand and digital circuits on the other analog circuits. Alternatively, this component will be split: one will use in this case a specialized component in processing digital information, and a specialized component in the processing of analog information, these two components being connected together so as to act as a single component. The single or split is in any case connected to the outer member by a plurality of wire bonds commonly referred to I / O 13 of which at least are connected to a control module (2). The design of the ASIC (1) enables it to perform different functions depending on the state in which the configuration module is (2) to which it is connected. Similarly, this ASIC is designed such that it can respond to any one of nine possible frequencies according to the state wherein the configuration module is (2) to which it is connected. The main component (1) comprises a large number of inputs / outputs (80); among these inputs / outputs, at least 13 are connected by wire bonds to the control module (2), 3 (F0, F1, F2) are assigned to the determination, depending on the state of the control module of the operating frequency of the tag and at least 10 other (SO to S9) are assigned to the designation, always depending on the state of this same control module functions to be fulfilled by the beacon (10).

The configuration module (2) can be achieved very simply from a plurality of switches (6) (switches can assume at least two different positions) or jumpers. It is therefore confer on each site of a frequency beacon, an address, and a function by simple changes switches position (6) which is provided with the configuration module (2). Insofar the said control module (2) includes at least 13 elements each able to take two different positions, this module may be located in at least 13 power 2 be 169 different states. Once this configuration operation performed and therefore one of the possible states conferred with each of the tags on the site, the master tags (20) will examine in turn each of the sites of tags (10) and monitor or control the process.

However, we saw that one of the main advantages of the system was to allow, through the embodiment of ASIC components, numerous and rapid changes in configuration and assignment of site tags based on the changing monitoring needs and / or process of piloting. However, the implementation of jumpers or switches the position change is a tedious process, since it has a large number of sites beacons; Moreover, these operations can not be entrusted only to persons with adequate training. For a number of applications, it may be interesting to exploit the many opportunities offered by changing the monitoring and control device according to the invention including the users and the public.

For this purpose, the configuration module (2) is advantageously connected to an information reading device (3) contained on a magnetic strip, said device being connected to the control module (2) and thus to the input / output ( F0, F1, F2, and S0, S1, S2, S3, S4, S5, S6, S7, S8, S9) through a decoder (4) comprising means to change the state wherein the location configuration module (2) based on information contained on the magnetic stripe and transmitted by the reading dispositof (3). It is therefore understandable that it is possible, thanks to this Instant reconfiguration device tags magnetic card, to best exploit the great flexibility offered by the installations according to the invention. To this end, we provide users, along with the installation, a plurality of magnetic cards, each card corresponding to one of the many configurations that may be conferred on a tag.

As examples, if the system is used to monitor an industrial unit, an employee can go around the unit and to read each site tags it has been asked to modify the card bearing the suitable number. In the case of an installation for monitoring a leisure center, each user will receive a magnetic card that will simply read the tag when entering a room or on land; this action will effectively trigger a number of actions on the site (doors open, setting according to the lighting etc ..) and send the necessary information to the central point. In this type of example, information concerning the identification of the user, information contained on the magnetic stripe, can be transmitted to the central point of the site tag.

Of course, the above examples are not exhaustive and may be used according to the invention of installations in numerous other applications, such as monitoring and management of ski resorts, marinas, hospitals , hotels, small or medium city, agricultural installations or wine and industrial sites. These facilities can be permanently installed or set up for a limited time, so for example to perform a measurement campaign on a given site.

The above description is given merely for guidance and we will select other embodiments of systems using tags described above without departing from the scope of the present invention.

Claims

-1- A monitoring, management and remote control of several sites at a central point by means of auto¬ configurable tags, of the type comprising a central unit comprising at least one information processing module a transceiver device and a plurality of beacons connected to the central unit by wireless links, characterized in that each of the tags includes at least one ASIC component (1) that is a silicon chip having analog and digital circuits, connected to at least one configuration module (2) and at least one terminal block (5), the ASIC components on the one hand and the control module (2) on the other hand being interconnected by at least 13 wired connections including three (FO, F1, F2) are assigned to the determination, depending on the state of the control module (2), the operating frequency of the tag and at least ten (S O to S9) are assigned to the designation, always depending on the state of this same control module functions to be fulfilled by the beacon (10).
