Abstract

The horse-shoe according to the present invention consists of two aluminium layers (1) and (2) comprising, between them, an internal layer (3) out of an elastic material, preferably siliconic rubber, that may provide the horse-shoe with a shock-absorber function.

Description

A SHOCK-ABSORBING HORSE-SHOE WITH THREE LAYERS WITH INTERNAL SIL¬ ICONIC RUBBER
The present invention concerns a horse-shoe suitable for any application, but in particular for racehorses, on hard grounds, due to its specific shock-absorbing function.
It is well known that horse races on hard grounds are some¬ times fatal for the horses' articulations, which are parti- cularly put under stress due to the impact of the hooves provided with horse-shoes.
It is the aim of the present invention to solve this prob¬ lem.
The aim set forth is reached by means of a horse-shoe ac¬ cording to the present invention, realized in three layers, the two external ones being of aluminium and according to the current rules, and comprising also an internal layer of elastic material, preferably syliconic rubber, that will provide the horse-shoe with a shock-absorber function.
It is a main advantage of the horse-shoe according to the present invention that it is the sole orthopaedic horse- shoe existing until now, as it may be used not only to pre¬ vent, but also to correct and heal some typical affections of the horses' articulations.
A preferred embodiment of the horse-shoe according to the present invention is shown in the enclosed drawings, in which the figures 1 and 2 show two perspective views - up- per and lower - of the shock-absorbing horse-shoe.
Relating to the details of the figures, the horse-shoe ac¬ cording to the present invention shows:
- an upper aluminium layer (1) for the connection to the horse's hoof;
- a lower aluminium layer (2), for the contact with the ground, provided with structures (4) typical for aluminium horse- shoes;
- an intermediate layer (3), fixed between said layers (1) and (2) and out of syliconic rubber so as to provide the correct elasticity to the shock-absorbing function of the complete horse-shoe.
In possible variants provided by the present invention said internal layer (3) having shock-absorbing function, may be realized of elastic materials different from syliconic rub¬ ber but having a similar elasticity feature.

Claims

1. A shock-absorbing horse-shoe with three layers, with internal syliconic rubber, characterized in: - an upper aluminium layer (1) for the connection to the horse's hoof; - a lower aluminium layer (2), for the contact with the ground, provided with structures (4) typical for aluminium horse-shoes; - an intermediate layer (3), fixed between said layers (1) and (2) and out of syliconic rubber so as to provide the correct elasticity to the shock-absorbing function of the complete horse-shoe.
2. A horse-shoe according to claim 1, characterized in the internal layer (3) consisting of elastic material diffe¬ rent from syliconic rubber.
