明 糸田 書 熱可塑性樹脂成形品の表面処理方法
[産業上の利用分野] "
本発明は熱可塑性樹脂組成物からなる成形品の表面処理及び塗装方法に関 する。 くわしくは熱可塑性樹脂とカルボン酸基、 カルボン酸エステル基また は酸無水基含有モノマー、 エポキシ ¾垂有モノマー、 ヒ ドロギシル基含有モ ノマー、 アミノ基含有モノマー、 アルケニル環状イミノエ一テル誘導体、 多 官能性モノマーから選ばれた少なく とも 1種を含む官能化されたポリォレフ ィ ン系樹脂とからなる組成物またはその無機充填材もしくはゴム状物質配合 組成物であって、 剛性、 耐衝撃特性、 '耐熱性、寸法安定性および成形加工性 などのバランスのよい熱可塑性樹脂組成物からなる成形品の 面処理及び塗 装方法に関する。
[従来の技術]
従来より、 ポリエチレン、 ポリプロピレン等のポリオレフィ ン系樹脂、 ポ リエステル系樹脂等の熱可塑性樹脂は、 自動車部品、 家電製品、 電子機器等 のさまざまの分野で使用され、 これら製品の付加価値を高めるために該製品 の表面を塗装、 印刷、 メ ツキ等を したり、 不織布、 織布、 発泡体、 レザー 等の基材を貼り合わせたり、 植毛し りすることなどが行われているが、 ポ リオレフィ ン系樹脂、 ポリエステル系樹脂等は極性基がないため、 塗装、 接 着、 印刷等が難しい。
したがって、 一般的には、 該製品あ塗層性等を ¾質することを目的として、 サンドプラスト処理、 火炎処理、 コロナ放電処理、 プラズマ処理等の物理的 処理方法、 クロム酸混液処理、 溶剤処理等の化学的処理方法等の表面処理が 行われている。
しかしながら、 上記物理的方法は、 ①効果が不十分である。 ②処理速度、 時間に難点があり、 ③かつ装置が大規模化し工程が複雑となり④経済的にも

問題を有する。
また化学的方法では、 ①環境汚染等、 ②使用した薬品、 溶剤の廃液処理等 に多大の負担がかかる等の問題を有し、 いずれの方法においても、 塗料、 ィ ンキ、 接着剤、 基材等に対する、 塗装性、 印刷性、 接着性が未だ不十分であ るという問題点を有している。
[発明が解決しょうとする課題]
本発明の目的は、 上記の点に鑑み、 安価で、 簡単な装置による、 塗装性、 印刷性、 接着性等に極めて優れる成形品の表面処理および Zまたは塗装方法 を提供することにある。
[課題を解決するための手段]
以上の目的を達成するために本発明者らは、 鋭意検討した結果、 剛性、 耐 衝撃特性、 耐熱性、 寸法安定性および成形加工性等の諸性鹡を低下 せるこ となく、 成形品の表面特性を改良することを見い出し、 本発明に至ったもの でめ o
すなわち、 本発明は、第 1に、
( A) 熱可塑性樹脂 5 0〜9 5重量%
( B ) B 1 : カルボン酸基、 カルボン酸エステル基または酸無水基含有モ ノマー、 B 2 :エポキシ基含有モノマー、 B 3 : ヒ ドロキシル基含有モノマ 一、 B 4 : アミノ基含有モノマー、 B 5 : アルケニル環状ィ ミノエーテル誘 導体および B 6 :多官能モノマーから選ばれた少なく とも 1種によって官能 化されたポリオレフイ ン系樹脂
5〜 5 0重量%を含む組成物からなる成形 品に 3 0 O nm以下の紫外線を照射することを特徵とする熱可塑性樹脂成形品 の表面処理方法であり、

上記 (A) + ( B ) の樹脂組成物 1 0 0重量部に対して、
( C ) 無機充填剤 5〜1 5 0重量部 および Zまたは
( D ) ゴム状物質 3〜5 0重量部
を含む組成物からなる成形品に 3 0ひ nm以下の紫外線を照射することを特徴 とする熱可塑性樹脂成形品の表面処理方法である。
本発明に用いる (A ) 熱可塑性樹脂とは、 炭素数 2から 1 0の α—ォレフ ィ ン (共) 重合体、 例えば高、 中密度ポリエチレン、 低密度ボリエチレン、 直鎖状低密度ポリエチレン、 超低密度ポリエチレン、 ポリプロピレン、 ポリ — 1ーブテン、 ポリ一 4 —メチルー 1 —ペンテンあるいは主チレン、 プロピ レン、 プテン一 1、 へキセン一 1、 4—メチルー 1 一ペンテンなどの α—ォ レフィ ンの相互共重合体等のポリオレフィ ン系樹脂、 ポリスチレン、 スチレ ンノアクリロ二トリル共重合体、 スチレンノメタクリル酸メチル Ζァクリ口 二トリル共重合体、 α —メチルスチレン/スチレン/ァク リロ二トリル共重 合体、 A B S、 M B S、 A E S、 A A S等のポリスチレン系樹脂、 ポリアク リル二トリル系樹脂、 ポリ塩化ビエル樹脂、 ポリ塩化ビニリデン系樹脂、 ポ リメタクリ レート条樹脂、 ポリァセタール系樹脂、 ポリァミ ド系樹脂、 ポリ カーボネート系樹脂、 ポリフヱニレンエーテル系樹脂、 ポリエステル系樹脂、 ポリスルホン樹脂、 ポリエーテルスルホン樹脂、 ポリフヱニレンスルフィ ド 樹脂、 ポリエーテル ·ェテルケトン、 ポリァリ レート樹脂、 ポリアミ ドィ ミ ド樹脂、 ポリイ ミ ド樹脂、 フッ素樹脂などであり、 これらは単独でも混合物 でもよい。
本発明の (B ) 成分の B 1 : カルボン酸基、 カルボン酸エステル基または 酸無水基含有モノマー、 B 2 :エポキシ基含有モノマー、 B 3 : ヒ ドロキシ ル基含有モノマー、 B 4 : アミノ基含有モノマー、 B 5 : アルケニル環状ィ
— — ミノエーテル誘導体、 B 6 : 多官能モノマーから選ばれた少なく とも 1種を 含むポリオレフィ ン系樹脂とは、 ォレフィ ンと上記モノマーの少なく とも 1 種との共重合体、 ポリオレフィ ン系樹脂に該モノマーの少なく とも 1種をグ ラフ ト変性したグラフ ト変性体、 ポリオレフィ ン系樹脂に該モノマーの少な く とも 1種を含浸させた熱可塑性樹脂組成物を包含する。 またモノマーとは 重合性炭素炭素二重結合を有する重合性モノマーを意味する。
上記 (B ) 成分 B 1 : カルボン酸基、 カルボン酸エステル基または酸無水 基含有モノマーとしてはマレイン酸、 フマル酸、 シトラコン酸、 ィタコン酸 等の a , iS—不飽和ジカルボン酸、 アク リル酸、 メタク リル酸プラン酸、 ク 口 トン酸、 ビニル酢酸、 ペンテン酸等の不飽和モノカルボン酸、 あるいはこ れらひ、 3—不飽和ジカルボン酸または不飽和モノカルボン酸のエステルま たは無水物が挙げられる。
B 2 : エポキシ基含有モノマーとしては、 グりシジル ('メタ) ァク リ レー ト、 アク リルグリ シジルェ一テル、 ビニルグリ シジルェ一テル等が挙げられ
B 3 : ヒ ドロキシル基含有モノマーとしては、 1ーヒ ドロキシプロピル (メタ) ァク リ レート、 2—ヒ ドロキシプロピル (メタ) ァク リ レート、 ヒ ドロキシェチル (メタ) ァク リ レート等が挙げられる。
B 4 : アミノ基含有モノマーとしては、 ジメチルアミノエチル (メタ) ァ ク リ レート、 ジェチルァミノェチル (メタ) ァク リ レート、 ジブチルァミノ ェチル (メタ) アタ リ レート等の 3級アミノ基含有モノマーが挙げられる。
B 5 : アルケニル環状イ ミノエ一テル誘導体としては、 以下の構造式で表 わされる物であり、

O N ここで nは 1、 2及び 3であり、 好ましく は 2及び 3、 より好ましく は 2 である。 また R 、 R2 、 R3 、 Rはそれぞれ 〜C12のアルキル基及び /または水素を示し、 アルキル基にはそれぞれ不活性な置換基があってもよ い。 ここでいう不活性とはグラフ ト反応やその生成 の機能に悪影響を及ぼ さないことを意味する。 また Rはすべ 'て同一である必要はない。 好ましく は Rj =R2 =H, R3 =HぁるぃはMe, R = Hすなわち、 2—ビニル及び /または 2—イソプロべニル一 2—ォキサゾリ ン、 2—ビニル及び /または 2—イソプロぺニル一5, 6—ジヒ ドロ一 4H— 1, 3—ォ.キサジンである。 これらは単独でも混合物でもよい。
この中でも特に 2—ビニル及び/または 2—ィソプロベニルー 2—ォキサ ゾリ ンが好ましい。
B 6 : 多官能モノマーとしては、 トリメチロールプロパン ト リメタク リ レ —ト、 エチレングリコールジメタク リ レート、 ジエチレングリ コールジメ夕 ク リ レ一ト等に代表される多官能性メタク リ レートモノマー類、 ジビニルべ ンゼン、 ト リアリルイソシァヌレート、 ジァリルフタレー ト、 ビニルブチラ ート等に代表される多官能性ビニルモノマー類、 Ν, Ν' —m—フヱニレン ビスマレイ ミ ド、 Ν, Ν' —エチレンビスマレイ ミ ドに代表されるビスマレ ィ ミ ド類、 Ρ—キノ ンジォキシム等のジォキシム類等が挙げられる。
上記モノマーの少なく とも 1種をポリオレフィ ン系樹脂にグラフ ト変性す るときには架橋剤の存在下にて行うことが望ましい。
該架橋剤としては、 ヒ ドロペルォキシ ド、 ジアルキルペルォキシド、 ジァ ルキルペルォキシド、 ペルォキシエステル、 ケトンペルォキシド等の有機過 酸化物、 ジヒ ドロ芳香族化合物、 硫黄等の加硫剤から選ばれた少なく とも 1 種が挙げられる。
また上記ジヒ ドロ芳香族化合物とは、 1個以上の芳香環を含む化合物であ つて少なく とも 1つの芳香環がジヒ ドロ化されたものをいう。
なお、 ここでいう芳香環とは、 芳香族性の定義 (たとえば、 後藤後夫訳 「有 機化学の基礎」 1 05〜1 06頁、 (株) 東京化学同人 (1 976) [Rich a rd S. Mon-son & 'John C. She 1 ton ; Fundamen t a 1 s o f Organic Chemistry, MacGraw-Hill, Inc. ( 1 974 ) ] に示される ττ—電子の数が 4 n + 2 (nは整数) 個である環構造を指し、 たとえばピリジン、 キノ リンなども含 まれる。 したがって、 本発明で用いるジヒ ドロ芳香族化合物はキノ リンのジ ヒ ドロ誘導体も含む。 また本発明で用いるジヒ ドロ芳香族化合物には置換基 があってもよく、 アルキル基による置換体その他各種の元素、 官能基による 置換誘導体が使用される。
このようなジヒ ドロ芳香族化合物は公知の化学反応を応用することにより 任意に合成しうるが、 現在入手しうるものを例示すれば、 1, 2—ジヒ ドロ ベンゼン、 c i s— 1, 2—ジヒ ドロカテコール、 1, 2—ジヒ ドロナフタ レン、 9, 10—ジヒ ドロフエナントレン等の他、 6—デシルー 2, 2, 4 一 トリメチルー 1, 2—ジヒ ドロキノ リ ン、 6—エトキシ一 2, 2, 4— ト リメチル一 1, 2—ジヒ ドロキノ リン、 2, 2, 4—トリメチル一 1, 2— ジヒ ドロキノ リン等の 1, 2—ジヒ ドロキノ リン系化合物が挙げられる。 ま たこれらの化合物の重合体であってもよい。
該ジヒ ドロ芳香族化合物は、 熱可塑性樹脂の炭素一水素結合に作用して炭 素ラジカルを生成させ、 自身はラジカルを放出した後共鳴構造を示して安定 ィ匕されるものと考えられる。
ここで生じた炭素ラジカルは、 前述の有機過酸化物の開裂によって生ずる 酸素ラジカルに比べて炭素—水素結合からの水素引抜き能力が弱いため、 ポ リプロピレンのような過酸化物分解型の熱可塑性樹脂に対しても極端な減性 反応を示ざず、 またポリエチレンのような過酸化物架橋型の熱可塑性樹脂に 対しても極端な架橋反応を示さない。
したがって、 反応の制御がしゃすく、 有機過酸化物では困難とされた微架
橋のようなこともできる。
なお架橋剤は上記のようにそのものを添加してもよいが、 特にシヒ ドロ芳 香族化合物の場合においては、 溶融混練する間に反応により合成されるよう な方法を用いてもよい。
これに用いる反応は任意に選択しうる力、 触媒等のに添加を避けるため熱 によって容易に反応する化合物から出発するのが好ましく、 特に D i e l s - A U e r 反応で生成するようにするのが望ましい。
ただしこの場合はジヒ ドロ芳香族化合物の形で加えるほうが好ましい。
本発明の (A ) 成分の熱可塑性樹脂と (B ) 成分の官能基含有ォレフィ ン 系樹脂の配合割合は、 (A ) / ( B ) = 5 0〜9 5 Z 5〜5 0重量%である。 該 (B ) 成分が 5重量%未満においては、 接着性、 塗装性が低下する懸念 が生じ、 5 0重量%を超える場合においては、 機械的強度が低下する虞れを 生じる。
本発明の (C ) 無機充填材としては、 従来公知の粉粒状、 平板状、 鱗片状、 針状、 球状または中空状および繊維のもの、 具体的には、 炭酸カルシウム、 炭酸マグネシウム、 硫酸カルシウム、 珪砂カルシウム、 ク レー、 珪藻土、 -タ ルク、 アルミナ、 ガラス粉、 酸化鉄、 金属粉、 グラフアイ ト、 炭化珪素、 窒 化珪素、 シリカ、 窒化硼素、 窒化アルミニウム、 カーボンブラックなどの粉 粒状充填剤、 雲母、 ガラス板、 セリサイ ド、 パイロフイ ライ ト、 アルムフレ ークなどの金属箔、 黒鉛などの平板状もしくは鱗片状充填剤、 シラスバル一 ン、 金属バルーン、 軽石などの中空充填剤、 ガラス繊維、 炭素繊維、 グラフ アイ ト繊維、 ゥイス力一、 金属繊維、 シリコン力一バイ ド繊維、 アスベスト、 ウォラストナイ ト等の鉱物繊維などが使用できる。
これらは単独でも混合物でもよく、 目的にあわせて種類と配合量が選択さ れる
さらにこれらの分散性を向上させるために、 シランカツプリング剤、 有機 チタネート系カツプリング剤、 脂肪酸の金属塩などで表面処理を施した物を 使用してもよい。
— ― 上記配合量は、 樹脂成分 (A) + ( B ) 1 0 0重量部に対して、 5〜1 5 0重量部の範囲、 好ましくは 1 0〜 1 3 0重量部、 更に好ましくは、 0 0〜 1 2 0重量部の範囲である。
上記配合量が 5重量部未満では添加効果が十分でなく、 1 5 0重量部を超 える場合は、 機械的強度、 特に低温における衝撃強度の低下が著しく、 好ま しくない。
本発明に用いる (D ) ゴム状物質とは、 エチレン ·プロピレンランダム共 重合体ゴム、 エチレン · プロピレン · ジェンランダム共重合体ゴム、 1, 2 —ポリプ夕ジェン、 スチレン · ブ夕ジェン · スチレンプロック共重合体ゴム、 スチレン ·イソプレン ·スチレンブロック共重合体ゴム、 天然ゴム、 二トリ ルゴム、 イソプチレンゴムなどがであり、 これらは単独でも混合物でもよい。 中でも特にエチレン ·プロピレンランダム共重合体ゴム、 ^チレン ' プロピ レン · ジェンランダム共重合体ゴムが好ましい。 ·
上記エチレン · プロピレン · ジヱンランダム共重合体ゴムのジェン成分に ついては、 ェチリデンノルボルネン、 1, 4—へキサジチェン、 ジシクロべ ンタジェンなど従来公知のものいずれも使用できる。
ゴム状物質の配合量は、 樹脂成分 (A ) + ( B ) 1 0 0重量部に対して、 3〜5 0重量部である。
ゴム状物質の配合量が 3重量部未満では、 配合効果を発揮することができ ず、 5 0重量部を超える場合は、 耐熱性等が低下するので好ましくない。 本発明の熱可塑性樹脂成形品とは前述の組成物を用いて、 押出成形、 射出 成形、 回転成形、 圧縮成形、 吹込成形等によって、 フィルム、 シート、 板、 フィ ラメ ント、 不織布、 織布、 管、 容器、 人形、 異形品、 家電製品、 バンバ 一、 インスツルメ ント等の自動車部品等の一次成形品や中間成形品、 最終成 形品に成形されたものを包含する。
本発明の表面処理および/または塗装方法とは、 該成形品に対し、 3 0 0 nm以下の領域に照射波長を持つ特殊な紫外線を照射して、 成形品の表面を活 性化せしめ、 接着性、 印刷性、 塗装性等を改質するものである。
すなわち、 成形品表面への光の作用は波長により異なり、 短波長の方がよ り有効である。
従って、 3 0 0 nm以下、 好ましくは 2 5 4 nmより短波長の光のエネルギー が全エネルギーの 8 5 %以上占めることが望ましく、 更に望ましくは、 1 8 5 nm近辺を主な作用波長とする紫外線が最も好ましい。
該 1 8 5 nm近辺を主な作用波長とする紫外線を発生する紫外線照射ランプ の材質は短波長の紫外線の透過率の高いものが好ましく、 天然産石英ガラス よりも純度の高い合成石英ガラスを使用することにより達成される。
本発明は、 この様な短波長の紫外線を用いることにより成形品の表面をよ り活性化し、 塗装性、 接着性等を向上できる。
また該成形品の表面に該紫外線を照射するに際し、 常温または加温した溶 剤で表面処理を施すか、 加温した成形品を溶剤処理してもよい。
上記組成物に対して、 本発明の目的を損なわない範囲で、 酸化防止剤、 熱 安定剤 (ヒンダ一ドフエノール系、 ホスファイ ト系、 ヒ ドロキノン系、 チォ エーテル系など) 、 紫外線吸収剤 (ベンゾトリアゾ一ル系、 レゾルシノール 系、 サリ シレート系など) 、 染料あるいは顔料、 難燃剤、 帯電防止剤、 造核 剤 (結晶化促進剤) 、 滑剤、 発泡剤、 染料、 顔料、 架橋促進剤あるいは離型 剤などを添加することができる。 以上の添加物は数種組み合わせて用いても よい。
[発明の作用効果 j - 上述のように本発明の方法によれば、 従来.のように溶剤、 プラズマ処理等 の表面処理を行わずに、 かつプライマー処理も必要とせずに、 ポリオレフィ ン系樹脂、 ポリエステル系樹脂等の極性基がなく、 塗装、 接着、 印刷等が難 しい樹脂組成物からなる成形品の表面を活性化することができ、 特に昨今プ ラスチック化の著しい自動車の部品、 例えば、 ィンスツルメ ント、 トリム、 ビラ一等の内装品、 バンパー、 フユイシヤー等の外層品、 あるいは家電製品 等の成形品の塗装性、 印刷性、 接着性等を飛躍的に向上せしめることができ o

[実施例]
以下、 本発明を実施例により具体的に説明するが、 本発明はこれらによつ て限定されるものではない。
実施例 1〜: 8、 比較例 1〜 6
(A) 熱可塑性樹脂、 (B) 官能基を含むポリオレフィ ンおよび (C) 無 機充填剤、 (D) ゴム上物質を表 1に示すように配合した、 試験片はとくに 記載のないかぎり、 射出成形によって得られたものをァニーリング処理して 使用した。
組成物の製造方法、 射出成形による試験片の製作条件および試験方法は以 下のとおりである。
上記射出成形板 (3腿厚 100 X 20 Onun) を、 低圧水銀ランプ (セン特 殊光源株式会社、 SUV— 110) を装着した紫外線照射装置の前面におき、 光源と成形板表面との距離を 5 cmに保ち、 空気雰囲気中で紫外線照射を 5分 間行った。 (但し、 ここで使用した低圧水銀ランプは 185nmの波長におけ る光の透過率が 85%以上である合成石英を用いて作成されたものである。 ) この成形板に、 ァクリル系塗料 (神東塗料株式会社製) を用い吹き付け塗 装を行った。 塗膜を常温で 24時間以上乾燥させた後に、 塗膜を 2腿幅にク ロスカツ トし、 サロファンテープを塗膜の上に圧着し、 引き剥した後の残存 面積を付着性とし、 その結果を第 1表に示した。
なお、 本発明で用いた熱可塑性樹脂、 官能基含有ポリオレフィ ン、 無機充 填剤、 ゴム状物質を以下に示した。

(1) (A) 熱可塑性樹脂 50〜90重量%
(B) B 1 : カルボン酸基、 カルボン酸エステル基または酸無水基 含有モノマー、 B 2 :エポキシ基含有モノマ一、 B 3 : ヒ トロキシル基含有 モノマー、 B 4 : アミノ基含有モノマー、 B 5 : アルケニル環状ィ ミ ノエー テル誘導体および B 6 :多官能モノマーから選ばれた少なく とも 1種で官能 化されたポリオレフィ ン系樹脂
5〜50重量%を含む組成物からなる成形品に 30 Onm以下の紫外線を照射することを特徴とする熱可塑性樹脂成形品の表 面処理方法。
