Description

VIDEO CAMERA. RECORDERS AND/OR RECORDING SYSTEMS
This invention relates to video camera recorders and/or recording systems.
Many video camera recorders currently available, during filming, display in the view finder details of time and date of recording and exposure settings etc., used during filming.
Such information is, however, not transferred to the video tape and is hence lost.
This invention provides a modi ied video camera recorder and/or recorder system wherein teletext encoder means are provided for encoded recording of vertical interval test and/or data e.g. standard teletext P888 on the video tape, especially using a high band system such as super VHS.
The inclusion of such a facility allows encoded recording of the information normally displayed in the view finder e.g. time and date of recording but also allows inclusion of a tape run clock to encode a constant real time reference thereby providing greater ease of editing, and a greater ease of sub-titling.
The modification according to the invention merely requires the inclusion of a suitably programmed chip in the camera circuitry.

Claims

1. A modified video camera recorder and/or recorder system wherein teletext encoder means are provided for encoded recording of vertical interval test and/or data e.g. standard teletext P888 on the video tape, especially using a high band system such as super VHS.
