Abstract
Transformable multi-use bag (1) that has the particular characteristic of being able to be used on a plurality of occasions, in particular as a shoulder bag for carrying personal items, as a porta-ski with the aid of two straps (12) thereof, as a hip-pouch by fastening it around the waist, as a hip-sack by extracting an included sac (14), and finally as a ruck-sack (15).
Description
"MULTI-USE TRANSFORMABLE BAG"
The present invention concerns a multipurpose bag unit that can be used on a wide variety of occasions.
It is well known that in carrying out certain everyday tasks or in the enjoyment of particular sporting activities one makes use of 5. differing types of bags that facilitate the user in his execution of a particular activity: for example, shoulder bags with adaptable shoulder strap, differing ruck sacks, bags with waist-belts or hip—belts that are worn at the waist.
This normally necessitates a good number of different bags, that do 10. not satisfy every specific need and such a plurality of bags entails a financial outlay of considerable proportions.
In fact rarely does a school satchel satisfy the needs of a sportsman, furthermore a shoulder bag can hardly be readapted for use as a hip-sack.
15. The aim of this invention is to eliminate the above mentioned
inconveniences and to present a versatile bag unit that executes a good number of different functions.
The object concerned in this request for patent is made up of a bag unit having the characteristics outlined in claim no. 1.
5. The invention . eliminates the mentioned inconveniences in that through the adaptation of the basic elements of this single unit (a two pocketed bag-and-belt) one obtains a convenient solution to a good number of carrying needs.
In use, a main belt of the unit (which is adaptable in length in 10. both relative and absolute terms) has attached to it two small straps, the purpose of which is to sustain the transportation of objects that do not fit into the bag forms e.g. skiis, fishing rods, etc.
The belt may be regulated by a buckle and worn on the waist as a 15. hip-pouch, in this position, by extracting the sack contained by one of the pockets of the bag one also obtains a hip-sack that can be used to contain large and bulky items. The repositioning of this sack - by adjusting the buckle on the main belt - onto one's back permits its use as an ample ruck-sack.
20. The bag in question also includes a transparent pocket situated immediately under the point of junction of the main belt and the bag that permits the convenient exposure of documents of identification, permits, passes and any such things that one needs to have immediately visible.
The bag in question is therefore a multi functional element with considerable versatility in its in-use applications.
In effect, said multi-use bag shall be considered as able to assume divers forms all of which shall be deemed as included in the 5. invention, which will shortly be described in some detail: said description is to be considered as purely indicative and shall not be deemed as raetrictive.
rhe included drawings illustrate differing aspects of the product.
Fig. 1 shows a perspective schematic view of the bag unit in a 10. shoulder bag position.
Fig. 2 shows a perspective schematic view of the bag unit adapted to the porta-ski position.
Fig. 3 shows a perspective schematic view of the bag transformed into a sack of large proportions.
15. Fig. 4 shows a perspective schematic view of the sack illustrated in Fig. 3 but here worn as a ruck-sack.
Fig. 5 shows a perspective schematic view of the sack illustrated in Fig. 3 this time worn around the waist as a hip-pouch.
Fig. 6 shows a perspective schematic view of the bag, this time worn 20. on the back and containing - for purely exemplary purposes - a radio and ear-phones.
Fig. 7 shows a perspective schematic view of the bag worn as a shoulder bag.
Fig. 8 shows a perspective schematic view of the bag worn as a pouch.
5. With reference to Fig. 1 a bag unit 1 comprises a body including a front pocket 2 and a back pocket 3 both of which have a normal zip closure 4.
The back pocket 3 is also provided with an external transparent pocket 5, which permits one to slip in items and documents which 10. have to be constantly visible.
On back pocket 3 there is applied - by sewing - an element 6 through which passes a metal ring 7 through which, in turn, passes an extensible main belt 8 which permits one to carry the bag in different uses.
15. One end of the said main belt 8 is attached to the metal ring 7 through a loop 9; this permits the free running of the belt and its adaptation to the different uses by the opening and closing of buckle 10: the other end of the belt is attached to the ring by a normal clip 11.
20. With reference to Fig. 2, the bag unit 1 comprises two mutually spaced straps 12; a first strap is attached to element 6 and a second strap is attached to main belt 8 in a sliding way so that it can be adjusted in position with respect to the first strap. With
the aid of the two straps 12 it is possible to fasten and carry a pair of skiis 13 as one would a rifle, thus leaving free the hands of the carrier and therefore giving him greater freedom and safety in movement - especially on icy paths.
5. When not required the straps 12 may be positioned so as not to cause inconvenience: the upper strap is wound around the main belt 8 and positioned near clip 11. The lower strap is tucked into one of the pockets of element 6.
With reference to Fig. 3, the back pocket 3 of the bag contains a 10. large sack 14 which, once extracted, permits the transformation of bag 1 into a ruck-sack 15 which, as illustrated in Fig. 4, is worn on one's back by adapting the main belt 8. The ruck-sack is secured to one's body by a further belt 16, or waist-belt, which is fixed on to the lower part 17 of the sack 14.
15. This ruck-sack can obviously be used, be it in the city as in the countryside or on the mountains, and in summer as well as in winter.
The same sack 14, as illustrated in Fig. 5, can also be worn on the hip in order to carry objects that may be of use or as a repository for nuts fruits and mushrooms, whilst leaving one's hands free.
20. With reference to Fig. 6, and for purely exemplary purposes bag 1 there illustrated, can also be worn on one's back without extracting the sack and used to contain a tape player 18 with head phones 19 in order to listen to music whilst enjoying outdoor activities.
With reference to Fig. 7 and 8, bag 1 may obviously be worn around one's waist or on the shoulder as an ordinary shoulder bag.
From the present detailed description it can be ascertained that the bag in question is characterised by exceptional versatility of 5. functions; it may be used during work, by the student, during free time and sporting activities, be it in the city or at the sea-side, during winter or summer.
The detailed description here contained of the embodiment shall not be deemed as restrictive, but on the contrary it is to be understood 10. that numerous modifications, additions, variations and/or substitu¬ tions of elements may be effected to the present invention without this altering its spirit or its scope, as is defined by the included claims.
