Abstract

This invention has been developed by improving a conventional skid preventing device for tires, which requires much time to be fitted on a tire. This device is basically in the shape of the letter "U" substantially identical with the shape of a cross section of a tire. The device is placed on a road surface with its open side directed upward, and a vehicle is driven so as to fit the tire portion of the wheel into the device. Consequently, the open portion of the device is expanded automatically by the weight of the vehicle. After the tire portion has been fitted into the device completely, both side walls of the tire are tightened automatically by the restoring force of the open portion of the device, and the device is thereby fitted firmly around the tire. In the best mode of the invention, a plurality of such devices having the above-described basic shape and connected in series by rectangular plates with the devices suitably spaced are placed on a road surface. These devices can then be fitted around a tire automatically in order in the circumferential direction as the wheel rotates. Various modifications including extending the portions of the device by which both side walls of a tire are tightened, so as to tighten the metal portions of the wheel at these extended portions, or be hung on the rim at the same portions, or fixing magnets to the extended portions of this device so as to be attracted at the magnet-attached portions by the metal portions of the wheel shall also be within the scope of the claim of this invention.

Therefore, a wide variety of products are prepared according to the inner diameter and width of the tire. In this product, there is almost no consideration for the inside of the tire, and the upper S3 □ width has a permissible maximum with respect to the tire width. There are j points that can be mounted on so many kinds of tires.
