Abstract

An accessory attachment to a vacuum cleaner consisting of a suction unit part proper and of a suction tube (6) connectable thereto, said tube carrying on its end a brush. The accessory attachment is connected between the suction unit part (1, 2, 3, 4) and the suction tube and consists of a power unit (5) running on the kineticenergy of the suction air, such as a propeller wheel, and to which by the aid of a transmission (8,10) has been connected a brush (9, 11) rotating adjacent to the vacuum cleaner suction piece.

Description

Accessory attachment for vacuum cleaner
The present invention concerns an accessory attachment for a vacuum cleaner consisting of a suction unit part proper and of a suction tube thereto attachable, carrying a brush on its end.
The object of the invention is to increase, as an own power source of the vacuum cleaner, the effectivity in the working environment. In present art, equivalent pieces of apparatus are provided with separate power means. The attachment of the invention is characterized in that it has been connected between the suction unit part and the suction tube and consists of a power unit set in rotation by the kinetic energy of the suction air, such as a propeller wheel, to which over a transmission has been connected a brush rotating in conjunction with the vacuum cleaner suction piece. By the aid of the invention, separate power sources are obviated, such as electric motors, as well as ancillary structures associated with them. The investement costs for the attachment of the invention will be substantially more favourable. The attachment is also smaller in size and lighter than those of prior art, whereby working becomes more attractive.
An advantageous embodiment of the invention is characterized in that the attachment is rigidly connected to the suction unit part. Another embodiment of the invention is characterized in that the transmission between the propeller wheel and the brush consists of a driving belt. A third embodiment of the invention is characterized in that the transmission between the propeller wheel and the brush consists of a flexible wire rotating within the suction tube.
The invention is described in the following with the aid of examples, with reference made to the attached drawing, wherein
Fig. 1 presents the attachment according to one embodiment, connected to the vacuum cleaner. Fig. 2 presents the attachment according to another embodiment, connected to the vacuum cleaner.
The suction unit part of the vacuum cleaner consists of a top cover 1, a motor 2, a filter 3 and a tank 4.The vacuum cleaner accessory attachment has been connected between the suction unit part and the suction tube 6, and it consists of a power unit 5 set in rotation by the kinetic energy of the suction air, such as a propeller wheel, with which has been connected by the aid of a transmission 8,10 a brush 9,11 rotating adjacent to the suction piece 7. The transmission connecting the propelller wheel 5 and the brush 9 consists of a drive belt 8, as has been shown in Fig. 1. In Fig. 2, the transmission between the propeller wheel 5 and the brush consists of a flexible wire 10 rotating inside the suction tube 6.
The attachment is applicable not only in connection with the portable vacuum cleaners presented in the examples but also with centralized vacuum cleaner systems. The attachment is applicable in agricultural, home and industrial surroundings.

Claims

1. An accessory attachment to a vacuum cleaner consisting of a suction unit part proper (1,2,3,4) and of a suction tube (6) connectable thereto, said tube carrying on its end a brush, characterized in that the accessory attachment is connected between the suction unit part (1,2,3,4) and the suction tube and consists of a power unit (5) running on the kinetic energy of the suction air, such as a propeller wheel, and to which by the aid of a transmission (8,10) has been connected a brush (9,11) rotating adjacent to the vacuum cleaner suction piece.
2. Attachment according to claim 1, characterized in that it is rigidly connected to the suction unit part.
3. Attachment according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the transmission between propeller wheel and brush consists of a drive belt.
4. Attachment according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the transmission between propeller wheel and brush consists of a flexible wire rotating inside the suction tube.
