Description
System for programming, memorizing and producing synthetic sounds, especially for the electric guitar and other electric stringed instruments.
The system according to the invention relates to the programming, memorization and production of synthetic sounds adapted to electric stringed musical instruments and in particular to electric guitars (plucked strings) and for example to violins (rubbed strings). We do not currently know on the market of guitars or other electric stringed instruments comprising a programming, memorization system linked to the production of synthesized sounds. Tests were carried out in the past, but were unsuccessful, the technology of the time was insufficient to produce the sounds currently sought by musicians, it used very bulky equipment which made guitars difficult to handle especially on stage and in the studio.
The system according to the invention, as described in the claims, adapts to programming, memorizing and producing synthetic sounds in a small space requirement for the electric guitar and electric stringed musical instruments. In addition to the usual controls already commonly used, notably on electric guitars, it is equipped with memories, at least one synthesizer, means for mixing sounds and programming means.
The advantages provided by the present invention are as follows:
- possibilité de stocker en mémoire un certain nombre de sono rités parmi les différents timbres que produisent normalement' les cordes de l'instrument; - possibilité de stocker dans une autre mémoire les sons produits par au moins un synthétiseur incorporé;- ability to store in memory a number of sound authorities among the different timbres that normally produce 'the strings of the instrument; - possibility of storing in another memory the sounds produced by at least one incorporated synthesizer;
- possibilité d'extraire à volonté les sons choisis dans l'une ou l'autre des mémoires en les programmant sur un pupitre de commande, - possibilité d'adjoindre des mémoires additionnelles;
- possibilité de nomenclature.: des codes numériques représentant des sons sélectionnés produits par le synthétiseur sur un fichier papier pour éviter d'alourdir les instruments dans le cas ou ils sont portés comme par exemple la guitare électrique qui doit rester légère.- possibility of extracting at will the sounds chosen from one or the other of the memories by programming them on a control console, - possibility of adding additional memories; - possibility of nomenclature .: digital codes representing selected sounds produced by the synthesizer on a paper file to avoid weighing down the instruments in the case where they are worn such as for example the electric guitar which must remain light.
The invention is described in more detail in the following text with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: - Figure 1 shows an example of a block diagram of a system for programming, memorizing and producing synthesized sounds according to the invention .
Tel qu'il est représenté sur la figure 1 , le système selon l'invention comporte au moins un capteur magnétique .(micro¬ phone) 1 , un bloc électronique de réglage 2 comprenant:As shown in FIG. 1, the system according to the invention comprises at least one magnetic sensor. (Micro¬ phone) 1, an electronic adjustment unit 2 comprising:
We turn on the power, we select on the programming console at least one tone from the different typical timbres that the instrument usually produces, we can optionally combine this tone with one or more other sounds produced by the synthesizer. The memories 3 and 7 allow to store the selected timbres and sounds. Each tone is stored in memory accompanied by a corresponding address recorded digitally on the read-only memory and which this same digital code makes it possible to extract at the desired time.
^JR ^ r OMPI
You can turn off memory 7 and use the synthesizer directly. When using the 8.9 synthesizer, they are preferably different from each other to increase the breadth of the range of synthesizable sounds so as to allow any sounds from each of the two synthesizers to be combined.
The memory 6 makes it possible to program the instrument, it is intended to extract from a digital code displayed mechanically, for example by means of an encoder wheel, or electronically from a keyboard, the sound direct strings to combine with the sound of one or more other instruments to produce polyphonic music. The possibility of reproducing the musical combinations selected is therefore a function of their memorization, of the memory capacity which can be extended by adding additional memories, or by recording codes beyond the memory capacity, on a paper file or on music fragments in the appropriate place. The various electronic blocks and memories used are well known to those skilled in the art and therefore have not been described, the block diagram being sufficient to clearly define the system. Figure 2 shows an extension of the polyphonic combinational possibilities on electronic musical instruments with plucked or bowed strings. To parts 1 and 2 respectively representing the memorization of the tones of strings and the synthesizers, a third part has been added comprising a random access memory 10 and a read-only memory 11, an electronic percussion generator (rhythm machine) and an electronic sequencer 14 as well as a recording and reading means 12. This means 12 and the sequencer 14 are either incorporated or preferably external to reduce the weight. The recording and playback means considerably widens the range of sounds usable by RAM, for example chords from other musical instruments, whether or not strings, as for the sequencer, it allows repetitions various chords while the musician normally plays his instrument.
If a sufficient capacity for memory 6 is chosen, it can be used in place of additional memory 11 to reduce the weight added to the instruments carried.
