Abstract

A keyholder that can be made of translucent or opaque material comprising a rectangular plate having two or more channels (2), (3) in the front face or side thereof. Small indicia plates, (8), (11) bearing literal (9) and numerical (12) characters thereon, may be inserted, in the channels (2), (3), and retained in position therein by a locking member (14).

Description

Specification of the Patent of Utility Model for " KEYHOLDER HAVING REMOVABLE INDICIA COMPONENTS "

Several and different types of ornamental and utilitarian keyholders are already known , the mos t pr ef erred f or automob iles and veh icles in general are those that are in the form of a rectangular plate by stamping by means of any process the number of the plate and county to which it belongs.

In what concerns this natural preference for similar types of keyholders, it has however a serious handicap which comprises the high cost and time consumption in the industrial feasibility, for the simple fact that for each keyholder a die is necessary due to the literal and numeric alteration. It was exactly to eliminate such handicap above that the applicant invented the improved keyholder as proposed herein, the keyholder being of easy and instantaneous assembly resulting in a very low cost. However, for a better understanding of the detailed description that follows, there are provided attached illustrative drawings of the subject improved keyholder, in which drawings: FIG. 1 - is the keyholder in a perspective view;

FIG. 2 - is a perspective view showing the assembly of the keyholder; and

FIG. 3 - illustrates the keyholder in accordance with a cross section.

In accordance with such illustrations one sees that the improved keyholder is composed of a substantially rectangular plate (1) and which plates represents the features of a vehicle license, which, in its forward face, is in register longitudinally, and from a relative spacing from the left side there are two paraile, respectivelly upper and lower gutters (2)-(3) which flare in their bottom under the form of lateral slots (4)-(5) and are separated by the central strip (6) which, however, does not reach the right side of the plate (1) , forming b ef ore the latter the projection of a lug or end edge (7).

In the upper gutter (2) there are inserted plates of the same width (8) with lateral characters (9) to finally compose the name of the county, which plates in their lower base open into lateral wings (10) cooperating in a locking mode with said slots (4). Similarly, in the .lower gutter there are inserted plates (11) with numeric and literal characteres (12) to finally compose the identification of the vehicle license which plates also project in the base in the form of edges or wings that cooperate with the slots (5).

The upper and lower plates thus inserted in the plate (1) are locked in the respective gutters by means of a terminal (14) with lateral wings (15) that cooperate in the end slots (4)-(5), such terminal also locating a central recess (16) where lid (7) actuates and a hole (17) in register with that (18) of the plate (1) to give way to the loop (19) of any keyholder (20) .

On the opposite side, the plate (1) is provided with a housing (21) suitable to insert a blade carry ing any desired words which words can also and optionally be applied by suitable means in the external part as indicated by the dotted lines (22).

The above described keyholder can obviously and within the same scope assume other indications such as, for example, name, address and full qualification of the persons, identification of animals applicable to collars, firm names, useful telephones, and many others.

Claims

What is claimed is: 19) "KEYHOLDER OF MODULATED AND MOUNTABLE COMPONENTS" that can be of metal, plastics and other suitable materials, characterized by being comprised, with a rectangular plate (1), having in the forward side thereof at least two parallel gutters (2)(3) separated by a strip (6), in which there are inserted small plates (8) -(9) with lateral and numeric characters (9), (12), which gutters are blocked in their ends by a retaining means (14) cooperating in the gutters (2)-(3), said retaining means being further provided with a recessed and optional point (16) wherein an engageable lid (7) actuates and is proj.ected by the right terminal of said strip (6). 20) KEYHOLDER OF MODULATED
