SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 35,190, dated October 15, 1901.

Application filed June 29,1901. Serial No, 66,618. Term of patent '7 years.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that we, JOHN Y. CAMPFIELD and WILLIAM H. GRovER, citizens of the United States, residing at Sac City, in the county of Sac and State of Iowa, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Standards for Hoisting-ll/Iachines,of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.

Figure 1 shows a perspective view of the entire standard for hoisting-machines, show- Fig. 2 is a sectional view on the indicated line 2 2 of Fig. 1.

As shown in the drawings, the leading or material features of our design consist of a body portion substantially oblong in crosssection and having two sides (indicated by the reference-numeral 10) flat and parallel with each other and two edges 11, rounded and inclined toward each other at the top of the body portion. At the top of the body portion is a flat surface 12, and the bottom of the body portion is also fiat at 13. On one of the fiat sides of the body portion, at the lower corners thereof, are two flat plates 14,

projecting downwardly, then straight outwardly and flush with the bottom of the body portion, and finally downwardly to a point some distance beneath the body portion. On the other flat face of the body portion, at the lower corners thereof,- are two flat plates 15, projecting straight downwardly some distance beneath the bottom of the body portion. At the top of the body portion is a flat bar 16, extending in a horizontal plane and having its ends formed into round rings 17, standing in a vertical plane.

Having thus described our invention, what we claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States therefor, is-
