SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 34,814, dated July 23, 1901.
Application filed June 12,1901. Serial No. 64,335. Term of patent 3% years.
To all whom, it may concern:
Be it known that I, HENRY A. WEIHMAN, of the city and county of Philadelphia, State of Pennsylvania, have in vented and produced a new and original Design for Backs for Brushes or Similar Articles, of which the following is a specification.
My invention is a new and original design for backs of brushes and similar articles, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing.
In the drawing is illustrated a plan View of the back of a brush, showing my design.
The general outline is pandurate; and the leading or material features of my design consist of the head of a nymph and a floral design interwoven with a scroll effect, which latter is arranged around the boundary or edge of the back.
More particularly referring to the drawing, 0 is the figure of a nymphs head and is located adjacent to the handle. e is the floral design and is interlaced with the scroll effect cl, arranged around the border of the back. The scroll efiect is also continued around the handle at f and combined with a floral design 9 at the end of the handle.
The central surfaces a and b of the body and handle, respectively, are unornamented.
The figure c, the floral design e, and the scroll ornamentation d are highly embossed, so as to make them stand out in high relief.
Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for a back for brushes and similar articles, as herein shown and described.
In testimony of which invention I have hereunto set my hand.
HENRY A. WEIHMAN.
