PATENT OFFICE,
OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
DESIGN FOR A FRAME OR BODY FOR MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 28,061, dated December 21, 1897.
Application filed April 9, 1897. Serial No. 631,451. Term of patent 14 years.
To a l] whom it man cone-erm- Be it known that I, HERMAN 0. Lawn, of New York, in the county and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for the Frames or Bodies of Musical Instruments, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specification, in Which Figure 1 is a front elevation of a musical instrument, showing my design; and Fig. 2 is a side elevation of the same.
The design in its entirety shows a twin body A with two openings B and B, from which parallel necks C and C, respectively, run outward, the necks terminating one short of the other, the heads and necks being disconnected and independent of each otherat every point along their lengths. Each neck further has a series of lines or strips D and D rangin g len gthwise thereof, and said series of lines or strips respectively crossing the openings B and 13'. Consequently the openings B and B appear in the body respectively in line with the necks.
The leading feature of the design consists in the twin body A with the two openings B and 13 therein, from which openings the parallel necks G and C, respectively, run outward, the necks terminating one short of the other and being disconnected from and independent of each other at all points along the length of the necks.
