FIG. 1 is a perspective view, partly schematic, of a pneumatic tire tread and buttress embodying my new design, it being understood that the pattern is repeated throughout _the circumference of the tread and buttress, as shown schematically by solid lines, and that the buttress pattern is repeated on the opposite side;
FIG. 2 is an enlarged, fragmentary developmental plan view of the tread and buttress of FIG. 1; and
FIG. 3 is an enlarged sectional view of the tread and buttress, taken substantially as indicated by line 3--3 of FIG. 2.
