UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.

LELIA ZED ANDERSON, ()ii PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA.

DESIGN FOR A MATCH-SAFE.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 20,526, dated February 24, 1891. Application filed January 24, 1891. Serial No. 378,980. Term of patent years.

To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that I, LELIA ZEB ANDERSON, a citizen of the United States, residing at Philadelphia, in the county of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Match and Lighter Safe; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming a part thereof.

The general form of my design is that of a shallow rectangular box (I. It has at its upper end a curvilinear extension a, as shown, which is provided with a snspendingdiole b. Upon the front face of the box a is a shieldshaped receptacle 2 of elongated form and terminating in a point at its bottom. The top of this shield overhangs its bottom, and near the latter is secured an approximately rectangular box f, having a rounded lower corner edge, as shown at r, the curved surface of which disappears in the bottom of the box 0:. The boxf' may he ornamented, if desired, and on its front face is a roughened surface h, which has a symmetrical form.

Having thus described my design, what I desire to secure by Letters Patent is The design for a inatclrsafe herein shown and described, consisting of the rectangular box having upon its front the superposed shield-form receptacle and the short box near the bottom of said shield.

In testimony whereof Iaffix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
