DESIGN FOR A COACH-LAMP.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1, FREDERIc U. CANNON, of New Haven, in the county of New Haven and State of Connecticut, have invented a new Design for Coach-Lamps, (Case 13;) and I do hereby declare the following, when taken in connection with accompanying drawing and the letters of reference marked thereon, to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, and which said drawing constitutes partof this specification, and represents a perspective View of the lamp complete.
This invention relates to a design for the class of lamps used upon carriages and coaches, commonly called carriage-lamps, and part ieularl to that class in which the body is composed of four sides, with acrown above and a tubularsoelt'et from the bottom,the glass panels being through two of the sides of the body, the design relating particularly to the configuration of the border surrounding the said panels; and the design consists in the shape, as shown in the accompanying illustration and particularly hereinafter described.
The body A of the lamp is of the usual square shape, having a crown 13 on its upper end and a shank extending from its lower its sides and ends straight, but the angles of the panel rounded, as at (t. This panel is represented as surrounded by a head I, having the same straight sides and ends with rounded angles as that of the panel.
The essential feature of this design is the body presenting four sides, one of the sides representing a glass panel of circular shape surrounded by an outwardly-tlaring border of corresponding shape, the adjacent side of the bod representing a glass panel in the form of a parallelogram,its ends and sides straight, but the angles rounded.
