DESIGN FOR AN ARGAND-LAMP CHIMNEY.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No, 16,398, dated December 1, 1885,

Application filed October 17, 1885. Serial No. 180,212. Term of patent 35 years.

To all wh'om it may concern:

Be it known that 1, WILLIAM DUFFIELD, a subject of the Queen of Great Britain, residing at London, in the county of Middlesex and the Province of Ontario, Dominion of Canada, have invented and produced a new and original Design for an Argand-Lamp Chimney, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming part thereof.

This chimney is shaped with a throat or neck, 0, having a bulbous enlargement, B, on one extremity, the walls A of which gradually approach to the top of the chimney, the other extremity of the neck 0 having an annular offset terminating in a cylindrical extension or base, D.

I am aware that an Argand-lamp chimney has been constructed in which the bulbous enlargement, similar to that marked B, is shown; 20 but in that chimney the bulb is connected immediately to the base D without the intermediate throat or neck, 0.

Thelines inarkeda and b in my design show the points at which the flame is cut.

I claim- The design for an Argand-lzunp chimney herein shown and described, the same consist ing ofthe throat or neck G,the bulb B at one extremity of this threat, and the annular offset 0 terminating in the cylindrical extension or base D.
